Firstly, apologies to Derek and Monique for taking SO long to write this review! My partner Dan and I stayed at Kester House back in January, as we were looking for somewhere to stay whilst visiting the Curlew Restaurant for Dan's birthday treat. Derek and Monique were so welcoming and really couldn't do enough for you. The breakfasts were amazing,... More

This was our second stay at Kester House, albeit in a different room. As before, Derek and Monique were charming hosts, with nothing too much trouble , delicious breakfast and a host of lovely little extra touches, such as welcoming afternoon tea when returning from a day out. They make you feel entirely at home and valued as a guest.

The mere fact that we are writing this review at all should give some indication as to how impressed we were with our stay at Kester House. Hannah and I have stayed in numerous B&Bs over the years, but never have we felt compelled to write a review. As soon as we walked into this 16th century grade II building... More

My boyfriend and I like staying in buildings with character and booked this little B&B for our 1-year anniversary as a little treat near lots of history! We arrived just after 4pm after a cold trek around Battle that day. Straight away we were welcomed by Derek, who showed us to our room and then set up complimentaryafternoon tea by... More

This is a very unique place to stay. It is very old and quirky. The door to our bedroom must have been made for a midget as it was so tiny, had to remember to duck my head on entering! We had a lovely room with lots of original features. The 4 poster bed was very comfortable and the en... More

This was my second stay at Kester House and once again enjoyed the warm welcome, cosy atmosphere and fantastic food. Looking forward to my next visit already! The only reason I have marked down the sleep quality rating is due to traffic noise waking me up.

Thanks for your kind review - yes we do get a bit of local traffic in the morning with people going to work - sorry it woke you up. So we have put ear plugs in the rooms - look forward to the next time. Best D&M More

I recently stayed at Kester House and I can truthfully say I have never had such a excellent experience staying away from home. Derek & Monique could not do enough for us to make sure our stay was as pleasant as it could possibly be. If they could provide it for us then they did so and they were so... More

Recently returned from our second visit to Kester House and we were made as welcome if not more so than on our previous visit, nothing is too much trouble for hosts Derek and Monique. Breakfasts were a delight and tea and cakes of an afternoon an added bonus, we shall be returning again shortly to sample the four poster room,... More
