I had never met such a rude and unpleasant man before! He demanded immediate full payment upon arrival straight off the ferry at 10pm. When I querried this, he avoided all eye contact, slapped his clip-board and insisted "Just Pay The Money!" If I had had the choice, I would have left on the spot. Unfortuantely at that time of... Very comfortable bed, and room is very clean. Breakfast tastes delicious. It's serve yourself style, eat as much as you like, from full english to continental. Staffs are all very pleasent. welcome and nice. Convenient location. Near the haven. No complain at this price.

I often stay at Newhaven Lodge with my family. It's really near the ferryport, the station and the bus stop and is very convenient when you're travelling on foot. We always have a warm welcome ( and good-bye!), can even arrive late at night and always get a nice bargain . The owner Annie cooks an unusual breakfast but is... More

The place was busy and cramped, but contrary to your other reviewers we found it clean enough and our arriving, with our bikes, at 10.20pm off the ferry from Dieppe was not a problem. Breakfast was the usual egg-and-beans etc. - it filled us up. The main advantage of the Lodge (not sure why it has such a grand title)... More

I can sleep in the smallest room, on the hardest bad and have the worst breakfast in the morning and still I can find a reason to leave a decent feedback. But I can't stand a dirt room. Hairs, spots, stains. To much for my stomach. And the guy who received me and my wife looked too attracted from his... More

Have you ever seen the Only Fools And Horses episode "The Jolly Boys Outing"? Well, imagine the Villa Bella...only in Newhaven. I used the Newhaven Lodge's online booking facility to make the reservation and requested 1 triple room and two twin rooms in order to house seven people. Upon arrival, the manager/owner informed us that the booking he had received... More

So dirty that we didn't even stay the night. Not sure how they advertise as having parking - no chance of fitting our car in. I've literally never seen decor like it, and felt dirty just being in the room.

I booked a room for one night as I have famliy living in newhaven and it wasn't to far from where they live, parking is a very big issue as they have a very small area for parking and a very narrow lane upto it, no turn around space you either have to reverse up or reverse down. The room... More

I stayed here with three friends as a stopover while we were visiting the Lewes bonfire night. We hadn't expected much because the price was so reasonable, all we were looking for was a bed for the night. We actually had a very pleasant experience. The staff were really courteous and polite. We had the biggest, most comfortable beds I've... More
