Stayed here for 2 nights visiting family in Hailsham. We arrived late on a Friday night and had two double rooms booked. The night porter was very prompt in letting us in and helped us to our rooms with our bags. Thankfully we were on the ground floor, rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed was lovely and comfy. Breakfast... More

Looking for a venue for my 50th birthday party I chose the Boship. From the outset the staff were accommodating and very helpful. I chose the Oak Suite for the party. On arrival earlier in the day to decorate the room everything had been set out as promised. We had two dedicated staff to run the bar and sort food... More

On arrival we did find that our family room booking had instead been organised for a double. However, Alex the assistant manager, bent over backwards to ensure that a solution was found. Every single member of staff here are the most helpful and pleasant people ever encountered in a hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean but the decor is very... More

Well located on main roads, but quiet inside. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean, although some further updating still to do. Grounds are fascinating and full of surprises. Good base for visitors to area. Ten minutes from Glyndebourne. Would return!

A good quality hotel, which we chose for its proximity both to the coast and to Glyndebourne. This was our second visit - just one night in both cases. The staff were courteous and our room clean, tidy and quiet. The main building is old and very attractive though the hotel has been considerably extended and modernised throughout. Our full... More

Motel style accommodation was newly re-furbished, but not without its teething troubles, the shower head fell off while I was using it. Staff friendly and attentive. Grounds extensive and well-kept. Evening meal in the restaurant was poor, limited choice from an unimaginative menu, the "chicken in red wine sauce" was dry and tough. Breakfast was better.

I stayed at the hotel last week, when the following happened: My room door was left wide open by the housekeeping all day. I was unable to get breakfast on more than one occasion. The first time because the chef was stuck in traffic . I was left waiting to get my room key for 15 minutes on two occasions.... More

We utilised this hotel recently as a base for a long weekend exploring Sussex and have to say that we were generally pleased. We had read reviews on here before booking and so had an idea what to expect (we were not too dumbfounded by the large quantity of painted animal statues around the grounds!) The room was a little...
