My expectations were not high before visiting the Roebuck for an overnight stay as I had allow my colleague to make the booking. However, overall things weren't at all bad. The room was clean and modern, food pretty reasonable and the breakfast well cooked. Staff friendly and accommodating. The the price, pretty decent!

A group of 6 of us needed to find a hotel that was close to the Bluebell Railway When booking for a murder mystery evening. The Roebuck Hotel at Wych Cross is a 10 to 15 minute drive away which was ideal. the hotel is superb, with old fashioned charm and hospitality by the bucket full. The price was £65... More

My friend and I stay at the Roebuck on a regular basis and it never disappoints. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The food is good value and excellent quality. The bar and lounge areas are cosy and comfortable. There is a very pleasant patio and garden area. Dog owners should note that dogs are welcome at... More

We have just moved to the area and decided to treat ourselves to lunch. On arrival it became apparent that the decor needed updating. We walked up to the bar to inquire whether we were able to have lunch and we were told to take a seat at table in a dark corner next to the fruit machine. We soon... More

Ideal for a short weekend or longer stay, plenty of attractions nearby, within easy reach of the coast. Clean quite accommodation, prompt service for bar and food. Staff mainly European but with good command of English, helpful seemed to be well used to working the hotel.

And will have to strongly disagree with Frank W, the reviewer below! We also arrived on a Friday evening at about 7.30pm and it wasn't a huge inconvenience to simply ring the bell in reception - we were soon being provided with clear information and were shown to a very pleasant room. We were delighted that we were able to... More

My experience differs from most other reviews here: what a depressing, awful, awful hotel. Tatty, dated decor, disinterested staff who struggled with the English language. I arrived (admittedly tired after a long drive) to find no one on reception. A sign suggested I phone the hotels own number in order to check in! The room was very tired but otherwise... More

My daughter held her wedding here on Sat 18th Oct, what an excellent choice of venue it turned out to be. Nick and his team could not have been more helpful, everything ran smoothly. The wedding breakfast was superb , the food was excellent and plenty of it , and the wine wasn't bad either !! The evening buffet was... More

Stayed 2 nights for family wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The wedding reception sit down meal went beautifully and the evening disco/buffet was great too. We ate from the normal menu on the eve and had a lovely meal. Breakfasts both day were cooked to order. Our room was very nice and everything worked. A very enjoyable stay... More

Had my wedding there on Saturday and I cannot fault any of the staff there!! The day ran so smoothly I could not of wished for a better venue. The food was excellent and plenty of it!!!! Bar is good priced for evening guests. The bottle of rose on my table with my meal was lush! Our room was comfortable... More
