We had a nice stay at the hotel for a night due a friend's wedding nearby. The exterior is very pleasant and the staff are nice. The included breakfast is good. The rooms and upstairs is quite dated and the hotel could use a renovation as everything is quite worn.

Wonderful English country pub. Welcoming service, experienced bar staff, nice waiters, good menu. Lots of authentic dishes on the menu with regional produce. Beautifully cooked and served. All in an inviting environment, tables not all squashed up against each other.....

We stayed here for one night on the eve of my mothers funeral. It was lovely as we were able to bring our two dogs and the room was quite large and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in with lovely soft cotton sheets. Breakfast was also very good giving us a good start... More

Very friendly staff and great breakfast. Very thin walls between rooms. Room 101 particularly bad for this. Extremely limited taxi services from hotel, so do ensure you pre-book taxis. Clean rooms, but they could do with a refurbishment as decor is starting to look tired and dated in the more modern wing of the hotel. Corridor carpets need to be... More

What a lovely hotel! The staff were incredible, unbelievably helpful and accommodating. The rooms were exactly what we needed with very comfortable beds and breakfast certainly hit the spot. When it was time to leave on Sunday we had trouble organising a taxi to the local station and within seconds the hotel owner had very kindly insisted on giving us... More

Stayed Bank Holiday Sunday for £45 for both of us b&b. Had a delish carvery when we arrived and checked in to room which was at the back of the hotel and was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Staff efficient, breakfast superb and area beautiful. Would recommend for sure.

For an overnight stay in this area, forget those chains with purple livery, this is the place to go for - lots of character with the beams, wood panels, and leaded windows. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed both the bar and reasonably priced food in the restaurant. Staff are very attentive and the total cost of our stay... More

An overnight stop on business. A bit of a trudge to a room at the end of a corridor, but from the window a view into a forest... Which in turn gave me a very peaceful night and a wake up,from the most amazing dawn chorus of birdsong next morning. Friendly service from a cheery Spanish lady on reception and... More

Passing today and fancying a roast, we stopped off here and were not disappointed. The hotel itself looks a little tired, but the lunch was excellent. £10.99 each for a moreorless eat as much as you like lunch. There was roast pork, beef and chicken, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, red cabbage, cauliflower in a white sauce, mashed potato, crackling, stuffing,... More
