My mother and I visited The Cooden Beach Hotel on Saturday 24 January at 3.30 p.m for afternoon tea, which was advertised at £16.95 per head. Never having visited before, and seeing several different rooms and bars we weren't sure where to go. When we ask the girl behind the beach bar, she just said we could sit anywhere, rather... More

Great beds! Fabulous family room with view of the sea, friendly staff who can't do enough to make your stay perfect, pool where the kids ( 12 and 13) went to chill out. We had a great weekend the breakfasts also were delicious and the staff attentive. . We also ate out in the bar/restaurant, where the chef, when asked... More

We had dinner in the Beachside Restaurant on Tuesday 20th Jan, the food, service and pianist were all excellent. A pity all the tables weren't full, if you want a really nice evening out, Tuesday is good!! Congratulations to the chef, many thanks to the staff and the pianist a pleasure to listen to without being intrusive. Well done Cooden... More

I needed a one night stop on a business trip along the south coast and found this place thats really not near either eastbourne or hastings but lost halfway between just about. Its like a forgotten little town and this is reflected in its hotel that has carpets the like of which are only now seen in nursing homes and... More

We were not staying at the hotel but we had a lovely dinner at the Beachside Restaurant in the Cooden Beach Hotel. The food was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. Thank you, Andre, for being so attentive, especially regarding my food allergies, and thanks to the chef as well for a delicious meal that I could enjoy with... More

Lovely setting. Staff not friendly at all . Bar maid with pink ribbon in her hair in the Cooden Tavern on Sat night more interested in talking with other staff eating chips in the kitchen and licking her fingers than serving customers. This hotel is run under Management ..while the cats away the mice will play ..Hotel needs a makeover .Would... Just returned from a family gathering at the hotel, been quite a few times sometimes just for lunch other times stayed over. It's always pleasant but never seems to sparkle. Had a bar meal and drink in the bar area very nice and tasty sandwich. Stayed for dinner and although prices were fair it feels like a lot of the... More

The hotel is delightfully located right by the beach in a very quiet area. Our check in experience was very poor; the receptionist couldn't manage to raise a smile and barely managed to talk to us. We had to ask how to get to our room and she begrudingly told us but no other information was given at all. Later... More

a very small gym, comprising cycle, runner and rowing machine and an ab trainer. It does the job and whilst being well used previously, on this occasion we had the place to ourselves. The changing rooms are clean tidy and warm, towels are soft and lovely, more are available if you need them. The spa is very hot, pool warm... More
