We stayed here as a large, extended family group with children of all ages. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff are absolutely lovely. Great breakfasts, all freshly cooked to order. Very close to the beach and De La Warr pavilion.

Last year we submitted a glowing report on this hotel. We have just visited again and enjoyed a delightful holiday in an atmosphere of sheer delight. Everything about the Northern is just right - clean, bright, well equipped, comfortable - and hospitality exceptionally warm. The food is excellent with enough variety to suit most tastes. The Sims family and the... More

It was a friendly quiet stay. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was huge which set us up for the day. Will stay there again. Not cheap but worth it. The room was large almost like our own little apartment.

I needed a hotel for a business trip at the last minute so Googled this hotel without researching. I arrived very late and was shown to my room by very friendly staff. In the morning I had a lovely breakfast with the sun streaming in through windows, served by very nice staff. The hotel has kept it's original charm of... More

Stayed 2 nights in May. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and nice if a little old fashioned and quirky. Breakfast superb - it was really nice to have a fully served breakfast unlike so many hotels these days. Location is good, just around corner from the seafront. Shame there was no car park and parking was difficult on the... More

Visited this nice family run hotel and had a very nice three course lunch. Food was lovely. Had the pate, fish, cheese and biscuits. Good red wine. Staff were friendly and efficient. Have been here several times before and always very good. Thank you. Janet x

I recently stayed one night at this pleasant hotel situated in a quiet side road just a short distance from the seafront - The hotel is described as being a family run establishment which has been in the Sims family for three generations - I was immediately struck by the pleasant and helpful nature of the staff in this period... I don't mean that they cook breakfasts all day, well, I don't think they do.....What I mean is that a breakfast here will last you all day....you won't need to eat anything for the rest of the day. The rooms are pleasant, comfortable and individually furnished in this family run, traditional seaside hotel. I would recommend a stay at the... More

Over the years I have stayed at the Northern Hotel many times, usually for one or two nights. It is a very comfortable hotel in a great location convenient for the train station , sea and shops. It tends to cater for an older clientelle - indeed I think some guests are almost semi-resident with their own tables and even food... More

Thank you for your continued support and also for writing your review. Our breakfasts seem to be quite a hit with everyone which is great news.
