The general tackiness of the hotel was surpassed by the rude and dismissive staff who made us feel like unwelcome visitors rather than paying guests. The manager barely greeted us when we arrived and the very average breakfast was served by a surely youth. Both struggled to speak English. Will not be returning.

When you arrive at the George Hotel from the small car park, the first thing you see is an empty unwelcoming desk at the bottom of the stairs by the back door of the Italian restaurant. Things improve though as you climb the stairs with its portraited walls & chandeliers & the room was large with a comfortable bed &... More

Excellent stay in a newly renovated and updated traditional hotel. The spacious room and bathroom were clean and well presented. The shower has shampoo and soap dispensers. Tea, coffee and a hot water kettle were available. TV was fine with many channels. Parking was available behind the hotel. I would recommend anyone stop here on their way to or from... More

Lovely and clean, spacious room. Right on high street so great to walk to pubs, Abbey and Battlefield, however a wee bit noisy, but didn't keep us awake! Breakfast was great value for money. The service was a bit slow but very friendly and was yummy! Would stay here again and recommend.

I can't begin to say what a wonderful time we had at the George. As my husband and I got married at Battle Abbey School, the hotel was a perfect location for us and our guests. Not only was it a perfect location but the rooms and the service were absolutely excellent. Highly recommended place to stay.

I paid only £35 a night for a single room but was given a very nice double. Room nicely decorated with everything you could need and very comfortable bed. Battle is a lovely small town and very convenient for sightseeing. Only downside is lack of parking at the hotel but I found on-street parking nearby. I would stay here again.

We stayed in Room 1, the Superior En-Suite with Jacuzzi Spa Bath, and considering we paid £80 for it, I was really happy with it. I was searching for a room under £100 with a spa bath in Kent or Sussex for a Valentine’s gift, and this room seemed to fit the bill. I was a bit put off by... More
