First of all we were here for 3 days on a Travel Zoo deal which was unbelievable value for money - simply a must. But even without the deal this is still a place to visit and enjoy its charms. The antique furnishings, log fire in the hall, sweeping drive/ gardens and absolutely EXCEPTIONAL staff make this a venue with... More

Had three rooms Saturday/Sunday, six adults and four children. Slight hiccup at start as two rooms had no heating but fixed with provision of every electric heater in the hotel until problem sorted. Dinner for ten in private room with drinks in side room, looked after by Marcello who was brilliant. Food was superb and the wine and prosecco flowed... More

I often come here for business lunches and for our office parties and think this hotel has real character and charm. It is very grand but the staff are so approachable and warm that it does not feel imposing. The waiters always have time for a polite chat and the owner, julie, makes you feel personally welcome. It is like... More

This is a truly beautiful hotel, from our warm welcome (both from the open fire and the receptionist) until we checked out everything was lovely. Our room was warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptionally good, beautiful warm mini loaves follwed by a small menu but each choice was excellent, the wine was lovely and reasonably... More

My wife and I have travelled the world over many years so are very clear on the standards we expect. We were so lucky to find the Powder Mills Hotel for my 80th birthday lunch for 22 in December 2014. We went to the hotel on 2 occasions to check the food and the accommodation before making the booking. The... More

Over night stay here, thanks to travel zoo offer. B&B, we had a lovely room in a great location & setting. Really enjoyable eve meal & house wine good & reasonably priced. Breakfast-full English was very tasty & filling. Oh & don't forget scones, with great cuppa in the drawing room in front of wood fire. Looking forward to a... More

A superb room, opposite the pool, and the lake beyond. We had a suite with couch, king size four poster, warm and comfy. Hot hot water. We had sun and so walked the grounds, glad we took our boots. Quiet, staff greeting us perfectly. No little niggles to moan about, it was just a nice experience, we didn't eat in... More

We came here with friends for dinner on my birthday. The first impression was really favourable. What a lovely approach to the hotel and a delightful entrance. We had a circular table for six and the tables were well spaced so we didn't feel cramped. The menu was varied and interesting and everything ordered was very well presented and enjoyed.... More

The place is really big, it has lovely grounds and is a wonderful place to stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were large and the staff very kind and helpful. The restaurant was nice with good quality food. The place is vintage but in good condition. I'd recommend this place for people looking for a nice weekend break!
