The pub is in a wonderful, old building, but I was afraid the decor would be old fashioned (think 1980s not 1680s) but that wasn't the case at all. Our room was really attractive, with exposed brickwork, a wrought-iron bedstead, and we didn't hear any noise from the pub, even though it was a Saturday night. The people who work... More

After reading the other reviews on here we were a bit apprehensive about the breakfast (full English or nothing!?) but either the others were unlucky, or The Bull have got their act together big time since those reviews. My gf's continental breakfast was excellent - croissants with 3 very good cheeses (obviously chosen by someone who knows a thing or... More

A group of us stayed for the weekend. The day we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The Saturday breakfast was not good. There was no choice, full English or nothing. The toast came in pieces & was impossible to butter. We were out all day & on our return the landlady was very hostile towards... More

We have just spent the weekend in the lovely town of Battle and I'm sorry to say it wasn't the case for our accomodation due to the poor host, who was not at all friendly towards our walking group of 10 adults in anyway !! The bar staff were very friendly and helpful and its a such a shame that... More

Good friendly atmosphere. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Food good. Good choice of gluten free meals. Good night out with friends. Price reasonable. Will go again. Great evening out. Close to station so didn't need to drive.

We booked into The Bull Inn after visiting the Abbey and battlefield. We were warmly welcomed, even though the bar was pretty busy and got to see the room before we booked in. After the flea-ridden room we'd ended up in the night before (sight unseen), this was much appreciated. Our room at The Bull was lovely and we both... More

We enjoyed four nights at The Bull Inn where the staff and owners were very friendly and made us most welcome. The food, especially the breakfasts, was excellent and we would thoroughly recommend a stay. We hope to return one day.

Nice B & B with downstairs pub. Food is good. Breakfast is excellent, possibly the biggest you will see. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. The pub is located in the middle of the high street.so it is ideal for everything.

Stayed for a few days. Clean room with ensuite although shower was a bit small. Nice bar areas with good selection of beers, Good menu with average prices but nice food. Super "English" breakfast, nice staff. Located in the middle of the village - there's only one street - so being in a dood location isn't hard! No problems with... More

Having decided on a whim to travel to Battle for the music festival following the carnival, we booked ourselves into The Bull once there. Kerri was warm and friendly, showing us the room before we made up our mind. We found the room clean and comfortable. The linen was excellent and the night's sleep fantastic. We had a great time...
