Came here this week with 7 family members -vegetarians , egg allergy and fish lovers. We had to delay our main for nearly an hour while one of us had to take a call. Staff were great especially the young manager - a good guy who really wants to make sure you get the best service. Shame the halibut was... More

I dropped in this evening with my family for a drink at the bar. We were a party of four. Two of the tables were occupied, the others were reserved. The couple at one of the tables, upon hearing that we were told that all tables were reserved, said they were leaving and left. I got the drinks while the... More

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 days spent at the Anchor. The dog friendly rooms were great, the staff superb, and the Breakfast with home made bread just amazing. The Anchor is so laid back, we only stayed 3 nights but feel like we were away for much longer. Being in the trade ourselves I could not recommend... More

Spent three days at this delightful pub. Ideal for a relaxing stay in a quiet village location on the coast. Ideal for walks and the beach. Friendly staff and good food. If you want a relaxing time this location is ideal.

Drove there from Felixstowe after hearing good reviews but very disappointed .Had crab salad at £14.75 which was unreal. The salad was only lettuce leaves and small amount of potatoe salad. Not even new potatoes.A salad is not just lettuce.Very poor and bad value.

We stayed in one of the dog friendly garden chalet rooms which was spacious, comfortable and clean.....not London luxury but cosy and family friendly. Ours had patio doors looking out onto extensive grounds with large mature trees and a gate leading to the sand dunes - ideal for families and in our case the dog who loved it. The Anchor... More

Very nicely located within a short walk to the shoreline. The pub has a good selection of Adnams ales all in good condition (yes, I did try them all). The restaurant menu was varied and the food was well presented, although my beef and my friends pork appeared to share the same gravy. The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

What a great place.....fantastic location in a sleepy village right by the dunes, a two minute walk to the sea, with amazing walks through heathland or beach. The food was fantastic, the choice of both local and international beer extensive, and a comprehensive winelist made for an excellent stay. Staff were very helpful and the room very comfortable, in the... More

This review is long everdue. Our Club members thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Walberswick, the surrounding area and especially the welcome, facilities & meals offered by the hosts and team of The Anchor. All minor problems that crop up during a 3-night stay were swiflty resolved, and our group left with only great memories. We enjoyed two evening meals at... More
