The anchor has amazing service, ve ry friendly and welcoming, accommodating to all my family needs. The food was extremely high standards and everyone was satisfied by the fab portion sizes served. The desserts were all melt in the mouth. We will 100% be coming back to see and try more of the lovely food and service :-)

Paid a visit in the off-season to see friends in the area and stayed here just one night, but plan to come back again as soon as possible. Spacious and comfortable room, immaculate bathroom. Ready access to the seashore/beach as well as country paths. An excellent restaurant and fine beverages. Friendly staff. Loved it!

We stayed at the Anchor Friday and Saturday night 20/21st March. The Garden Cottage is very overpriced at £120 and £110. per night. The room was very shabby. The heating and hot water did not work, although when advised they switched it on! The bed moves across the floor as on a tiled floor that is freezing, the sheets were... More

My husband and five year old son stayed here last summer for 1 night. Location was great and we stayed in one of the garden rooms which was good with a small child as you had direct access to the gardens. The room was comfortable and I actually thought the décor was nicer than in the website gallery. The underfloor... More

Have just returned from a 4 day break in Southwold. I booked a table at The Anchor for 11 of us last Sunday (plus 2 dogs) and we ate in the little room off the main bar area. The food was amazing, especially the roast beef with excellent roast potatoes. I must say that Horio(?) who looked after us was... More

We made our second visit to The Anchor on Monday 9th as we had been there in September, that visit it was very busy and we sat outside and ate excellent steak. This time it was chilly and we were happy to sit in the bar near one of fires. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food... More

After a cycle ride from Southwold to Walberswick the only place open for a drink was The Anchor. Staff welcomed us with a smile and made us feel welcomed. The coffee we had was fairly priced. Walberswick is a very nice place to visit and a shame that nothing else was open.

We have just returned from an amazing weekend with friends & family at the Anchor to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for Sophie & her team, great food, great service in a stunning location. Luke was there on hand for all our needs, there when we went to bed & there again in the morning... More

On a cold but sunny January day we needed a light lunch and fell lucky with this delightful eatery. Two lovely plates, one of various fish items and one of meats. Nicely presented, bite sized quantities and delicious. Excellent service, warm fire, nice pudding and good beer. And well priced.

Fantastic location, fantastc food, fantastic service all round. Would love to return in not too distant future, although need to vastly improve my crabbing technique, especially if you go crabbing with Wally. He is mustard......
