We have never been to the East Coast of Suffolk although my father was from Norfolk and we had many happy holidays in Wells-next-the-Sea. If you wish for a quiet holiday by the sea in a place where not much happens, then Walberswick is perfect. There is a certain quiet melancholy about the low-lying east coast and its sea marshes.... Warm and welcoming,The Anchor is a place my Fiance and i return to again and again.Staff are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable, there's a fire in the hearth, freshly baked bread and fabulous and unusual food and drink and Sophie is just the most wonderful host you could wish for. Can't wait to go back!

We had a night away at The Anchor in Walberswick to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was just perfect. We had a really warm welcome from the owners, and all of the staff made us feel very at home. The bar and restaurant both were very cosy, with lovely wine, good ales and amazing food. We stayed in a... More

For the third November Birthday in a row we travelled to Suffolk, largely to dine at this amazing restaurant! Everything about this place is outstanding, supremely polite and helpful staff, wonderful surroundings and atmosphere, magnificent beer... and food to die for! The menu choice is varied and enticing, presentation consistently top-notch, and the taste tops it all. Out of interest... More

Went there for Sunday dinner and this restaurant is amazing! They accommodated us when we hadn't made a reservation and treated us like royalty. Yes there isn't a lot for choice but there was something for everyone and it's about quality not quantity. The steak me and my boyfriend had was spectacular, honestly one of the best I've ever had... We went to the Anchor for Lunch on Saturday on arrival we where told the only place we where able to eat was out side due to how busy they where. Which we didn't mind at all. We where then greeted by a extreamely rude man that found taking are order was a bit of a struggle. my Partner asked... More

This place could be nice, breakfast was okay but the room was nothing special, with mould in the shower and a non working bathroom blind, it felt a bit down at heel A letter of complaint has gone unanswered. Overall not worth the money.

9 of us for dinner. Really good selection of food and all was good. Well cooked and an interesting menu. Looking at all the other patchy reviews We had great service and my only small gripe was the room was very loud and this made conversation difficult. Have been coming to Warblewick for years and I am glade to see... More

It was a pleasure to go back and stay at The Anchor and to enjoy the excellent food and service which we anticipated. The daily specials are a real treat and breakfasts are worth waiting for. We always have a relaxed time-out in the very comfortable garden chalets. No problem with the beds and the facilities in the rooms either.... More

Many reviews revolve around a single incident that had annoyed. However I was genuinely unimpressed. Restaurants are more than good food it is about ambience and service. We booked on line but got no confirmation. Upon arrival we were greeted by the back of a member of staff who was putting away cutlery. We were ignored until the manager asked... More
