Yesterday sun 24th jan we visited the bell with friends and we all said it was the best roast beef dinner we had by far in a pub. Plenty of food so well cooked and presented so tasteful The beef cooked to perfection roast potatoes crunchy just how they should be,plenty of very vegetables and so really pleased with the... More

Stayed at The Bell yesterday after a long days drive through Norfolk & Suffolk, we found it warm and inviting, the rooms were very well done, tasteful decor and cosy, the food was amazing, lovely hot soup followed by the best Steak pie I've ever had, a few beers went down well sitting by a lovely fire, although they were... This is a pub where orders are taken at the bar but it is laid out as though it is a restaurant , not a pub. The lay out is odd -there are lots of dogs lying on the floor whi you have to avoid to reach the bar. Nice warm open fire . The food was under-whelming. large menu... More

People talk about 'working in the hospitality business', but don't seem to grasp the basic principle - that you have to be hospitable! This pub is one that absolutely excels at being welcoming and friendly. Whether serving beer - Adnams, and my favourite pint!, food at night or at breakfast, and even the live music on a Sunday evening, was... More

Not too much to say really other than we wished we had eaten here rather than the Anchor. Room 6 was massive with a sea view. The breakfast chef was hot stuff on poached eggs. The Polish barman was a delight. Would certainly visit again. Thank you

I felt I had to write a review based on my experience to this pub. Firstly their customer service leaves a lot to be desired; entering into the pub alone with children and dogs I asked if I could place an order at 11.50am ( although they don't start serving food until 12pm) I made it clear that I understood... Very cosy room, on ground floor and ideal for ourselves and our dog. All our meals were taken in the Bell and were varied and delicious. We were not really surprised that the inn was so popular with non residents. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was obvious that the majority were either dog owners or dog lovers... More

We've been here several times, once in the colder months and before that in the summer. Thoroughly enjoyed the meals. The table was a bit draughty in the winter, but it was the last table, so we wrapped coats around our laps and that did the trick. Consistently good honest food.

We first visited the Bell in June when we popped in for lunch. It looked like an nice pub and we noticed that they had rooms so we decided that rather than staying in Southwold on our next trip, we would stay at the Bell in Walberswick. Our room (room4) was clean and bright and not as small as we... More
