Very well located in Sothwould, small doubles (2 & 3) at the side of the hotel too cramped, dim and claustrophobic with a noisy extractor fan directly outside the window from about 8 am to 9pm. King rooms very well appointed, all staff polite friendly efficient and smiled. Breakfast and dinner food excellent, well prepared hot and plentifull. New owner... More

I was charged an enormous price (£90 for one night only) for just about a broom cupboard with standing and walking space of about 6 square feet. The shower didn't work and there was a gap under the window of about 3 centimetres. Luckily it was a warm night so it didn't matter that it didn't close. The furniture and... More

Had a 1 night stay this weekend. Had booked the Southwold Suite but was contacted a few days before arrival and was told the room was unavailable owing to an urgent repair. Richard could not have been more apologetic and offered an alternative room and a substantially reduced rate. Arrived and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was... More

Sorry to say a disappointing experience - we had called into The Blyth during the day to check times for dinner. The staff were very friendly and welcoming at this point, and we were looking forwards to an evening meal here. However when we returned in the evening an hour before dinner service was supposed to finish, we were told... More

I stayed here on my own in a single room but it was not bad.It was comfortable, even though small. The hotel also has a restaurant with excellent food and wine so well worth having a meal here.Service a bit slow but food worth the wait. Also excellent breakfast. The hotel has a good position in that it is easy... More

Quite an un-stuffy place, unlike some of the accommodation in Southwold! Owners and staff are welcoming and helpful. The bar, restaurant meals & breakfast were all lovely. Our room for three nights over the Easter break was perfectly comfortable. The hotel needs a little TLC in places, but overall the Blyth is lovely place to stay.

This is an older style establishment with a more modern feel in the public areas downstairs. Our hosts had recently taken on management of the facility and were keen to please, and we took into account that they were probably still getting into the swing of things. We had requested vegan food in advance, and with the exception of a... More

On Sunday 8th March 2015 the Old Felicians had a delightful lunch party here of nine. Six old girls and three duty drivers. The roast beef and pork (and cracklin') avec roasties, mixed veg and massive Yorkshire puddings were enjoyed by all. Desserts are works of art. The dining table could accommodate twelve and was surrounded by tables of two... More
