On Sunday 8th March 2015 the Old Felicians had a delightful lunch party here of nine. Six old girls and three duty drivers. The roast beef and pork (and cracklin') avec roasties, mixed veg and massive Yorkshire puddings were enjoyed by all. Desserts are works of art. The dining table could accommodate twelve and was surrounded by tables of two... More

Dear Colin Thank you for your review. This was, indeed our first weekend and it was an absolute pleasure to spend it serving your party along with our other guests. We hope you will visit us, again in the future. More

Despite the offputting comments on Tripadvisor, we had a very enjoyable two night stay at the Blyth Hotel. It has a car park and is only a few minutes walk to the sea front. The welcome was very friendly, whilst the hotel was warm and cosy when all outside was extremely cold and blustery. Admittedly, some of the decoration was... More

Just return from 2 nights in Southwold staying at The Blyth Hotel. Just read a few negative comments regarding this hotel and have to contradict........the welcome from the young blonde lady at reception (didn't get her name) was wonderful...very professional. The rooms were a little tired but I understand the new owners are going to address this...having said this the... More

I tried to book this hotel...sent an email asking if availability....I got a simple one word response "yes" ......so rude......didn't even address me by name or say kind regards. Chose to book elsewhere.

This was a Christmas present for my husband.! Much of it was a disappointment and a bit embarrassing really. We had Room 6 ( superior king-size ??). Radiators both towel rail and room were very temperamental.Very little space. Bed uncomfortable. Shower control very difficult we both ended up with cold shower which we could not alter despite the instructions. Bathroom... More

I booked my wife and I, another couple and a single person into three rooms at The Blyth for an overnight stay as we were attending a dinner party elsewhere in the town. My wife and I had room 5 and were very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and in the morning we had a very good breakfast. Although... More

Apologies but I'll start with the negatives. Our room (room 2) was above the bar and kitchen and was noisy in the evening (but not to late though and it didn't stop us from sleeping. Would have been nice to be warned when we booked in. Free WiFi, whilst advertised we weren't able to get it in our room, signal... More

We stayed for 2 nights in room 5. The room is large with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is a good size too however the toilet is in a tight corner. The room is clean but a little tired, it could do with a facelift. The bed was quite hard so did not sleep all that well. Breakfast... More

Things have changed a little since my last review. The breakfasts are slightly more "economical": gone is the freshly sliced fruit, mini pastries and home baked bread. However, the cooked breakfast menu remains the same, excellent quality with a terrific selection. The staff are charming and very helpful. The evening meal (it was a Sunday so only a limited choice)... More

Our first stay at the Blyth on the winter warmer deal, from the hotels own website. Managed to get the Southwold room on a Friday night. Having read other reviews the comedy windows came as no surprise, but the room itself was quite warm and cosy. The evening meal was fantastic, both courses were spot on. Breakfast was quite ample...
