If you like modern, minimalistic hotels with plenty of leisure facilities then this is not the place for you. On the other hand if you want to go back to the 1950's with old fashioned rooms and even older guests then try the Swan Hotel. I stayed here with my daughter (8 yrs old) having booked the hotel directly. I got a good deal for a classic room over looking the market square. Only problem is your woken loudly if you have the windows open with the deliveries to the Co-op store next door around 6-30am so no lay in for me! The room though... more

We enjoyed our stay in one of the refurbished lighthouse rooms - well appointed, comfortable and up to date. The lighthouse rooms surround a pleasant garden at the back of the hotel, with service from the bar. Our room was a Swan Hotel Classic and although I expected to pay top price for an august weekend £200 (B & B) was still expensive considering the standard of the room .Do not be put off by previous reviews regarding " Lighthouse rooms being converted garages", they may well be, but they are a dam sight better than Room... more
