One of our favourite spots in Southwold is The Common,so I was more than knocked-out to discover that Wellesley House not only overlooks that very place, but the harbour and sea beyond. My Sister and I stayed for 3 nights,on a single-occupancy basis. My room was at the front, with the view as previously described.Super-comfy double bed,ensuite,tea/coffee/hot choc/fruit/bikkies and fresh milk for evening/morning.My Sister's... This really is a gem of a B&B and everything you would want if staying in Southwold. Great room (amazing bed) and location, convenient parking and wonderful breakfasts. But it's the little extras that set it apart and will mean we definitely return - the shortbread and fruit as well as the fresh milk put in our room each evening.... More

We came to Southwold over the late May Bank Holiday weekend and had a fantastic time staying at Wellesley House. Julie couldn't have been more helpful both accommodating culinary requests and suggesting activities (including a great walk round the town). We were made to feel very welcome and would recommend to anyone visiting Southwold.

What can I say expect Julie & Bruce exceeded expectations. The room was lovely, breakfast was outstanding, hospitality briliant. This is truly a spectacular guest house and they are so accommodating. Location wise it is perfect for the beach and town. Everything is a short walk away. The little added extras like the fruitbowl and the shortbread (never ending supply)... More

My husband and I spent a couple of days in Southwold and chose Wellesley House based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we certainly made an excellent choice. As mentioned before the guesthouse is only a short walk from the centre of Southwold, the beach and the pier. The room was comfortable and spacious with lovely views over the common out... More

My wife and I wanted a few days in Southwold and because of the good Tripadvisor reviews many of the B&B's there have, we decided to try one of them. I chose Wellesley House mainly because it has car parking, but I quickly realised it has a lot more going for it than that. The welcome was warm and friendly,... More

Stayed with Julie and Bruce for 2 nights when in Southwold to attend a wedding. We thought everything about the B&B was first class. The room was spacious, comfortable ( the bed exceptionally so) and well appointed with great views over the common and the coast. The bowl of fruit, the shortbread and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh... More

This is a very comfortable guesthouse with friendly hosts. Everything is done to a high standard including the delicious breakfast. Situated in a quiet road with parking outside, and within a short walk of the town centre and the beach. Hope to re-visit.

Conveniently situated a short walk from the sea and the town centre, this guest house is a cut above the average B&B. The hosts are friendly and attentive but not overbearing, the house is pretty, and the breakfasts were divine - English one day and local kippers the next; choice of cereals, fresh fruit and juice, toast and preserves, all... A very rare bed and breakfast - like a hotel but much quieter. The room had everything that we could possibly need including tea and coffee (fresh milk), fruit, hairdryer, clock radio with iPod dock. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and we had the option of two singles or a double. We had the room with adjacent bathroom... More
