Absolutely loved lunch here today. The food was so very good. Could become one of my all time favourites. Super pub with a pub atmosphere not pretending to be anything other than what it is. No " gastro ". I booked one od the antique settles . Fabulous.

A great place to eat and relax after a morning visit to Snape Maltings. Great service and very friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the fish and chips were gluten free, so I had to indulge as so few eateries seem to be able to manage this and I love fish and chips. Very happy to report... Four of us plus a dog visited this delightful riverside Inn a couple of nights ago.We were attracted by a very good menu offering a wide and varied selection of both starters and main courses with a bias towards fresh fish and local pork.We were greeted warmly with the pub having a very welcoming feel with a roaring open fire... A group of six of us and two dogs visited to sample the adnams ales. The pub was beautifully decorated and fully dog friendly which is important to us. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions about the ales and the area. Can't wait to go back and try out the menu

Very welcoming and fully dog friendly. Very old establishment with unique spacious rooms. Food was excellent and service very friendly (highly recommend the fish platter, lobster and leek risotto and treacle tart). A great choice of Adnams beers and more than acceptable wine list. Brilliant not to have TV in the room, (free WIFI available), to create a proper break... More

We stayed two nights to go cycling. Enjoyed two delicious cooked breakfasts and an evening dinner. Stay very friendly. Pub had lots of character, sloping floors and suchlike- really cosy room, complete with ensuite incl. bath. Would stay again.

Had Sunday lunch at the Crown. Food was OK but not fantastic. Service was friendly BUT it was freezing. There was no fire despite there being 2 fireplaces. We finished up eating with our coats on and stayed for just 45 minutes.

We stayed just one night to enjoy some walking in the area for which the location was very good.. It was our first visit to the Crown and we were delighted to have a bedroom with exposed beams, sloping floors and lots of character, but I agree with another reviewer that the lighting is poor when there is little else... I called into The Crown Inn for a couple of pints of draught Broadside and to check out the refurbishment after the floods in 2013. What a remarkable recovery! It has been refurbished to the highest standard. Everything screams quality, and so it should in such an historic building. The staff are friendly and welcoming. You can, as I did,... More

Most years we take a holiday in either Southwold or Aldeburgh and make a point of having lunch at The Crown at least once while in the area. As ever this year we were not disappointed: the lunch was up to the usual high standard (I especially look forward to their pork dishes from the home grown pigs, and Ms... More
