Don't criticise this place, don't ask politely for anything from the staff at all. When we went for lunch and were treated extremely badly we wrote to complain, the "duty manager " was even more rude than the actual staff member we complained about. Never under any circumstances ever again. Food was waited for so long it was cold, unreasonable... more

The restaurant looked fine when I saw it the next day. For that matter so did the hotel. The room though was awful. Done out in red white and blue with union flag cushion, union flag mug and union flag tin for coffee it was not enhanced by the black velour headboard and black lampshade and black leather her chair.... more

Having my parents down to visit we decided to treat them to a meal at the Olde Bull Pub in Barton Mills on an evening when they had a live band. We eaten her before and thoroughly enjoyed it but on this particular night things were very different. It was very busy and the only seats available were in the... more

The first impression is of an Olde Worlde type of hostelry and the reception was warm, helpful and friendly. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and with decor in a boutique style which perhaps, sits a little oddly with the olde building. We ate in the bar for both our evening meals as the dining room seemed a little expensive and the... more

My husband and I had a one night stop-over at the Bull Inn. First impressions were the same as the other reviews.......a bit shabby, but that is to be expected with such an old building. The reception area is bright and cheerful. The general decor is good and the rooms have been decorated to a very modern standard. Here's the... more

The Olde Bull in Barton Mills near Newmarket is an absolute delight. Yes, It's being renovated and there are some consequences of that but it is full of ancient charm with a boutique twist - a winning combination. But what makes this pub with rooms very special is the attitude of the owners and their commitment to customer service. Cheryl... more

I booked a room as I was visiting friends in the area and it had good road links, just being located off the A11. The hotel is an old coaching Inn which has a bar and restaurant, plus a resident ghost (so I was told!). The restaurant has recently been revamped with a contemporary theme which is sympathetic to the... more

Yes, on first sight the exterior is definately in need of a little TLC and alot of work, and I'm sure alot of people have driven past along the A11 dismissing it on the appearance alone. We got there at lunchtime on a wet saturday afternoon, very hungry, having pre-booked a room for the night. My first doubts were soon... more
