The hotel is located at the top end of the town about a 10 minute walk to the sea, along the main shopping street. The hotel has a large car park and the gardens around the hotel are well tended. The hotel consists of a lovely victorian building where the main public rooms are situated and a more modern addition... more

Bedrooms were awful. I was staying in the hotel with my elderly mother, and we had two rooms overlooking the kitchen ventilators and fire escape for the first night (217 and 116). They were hot and stuffy, and badly in need of redecoration - threadbare carpet, peeling wallpaper etc. We asked to be moved to better rooms nearer each other... more

The room we were given first had a very firm/hard bed, but we were upgraded to a very nice room on second floor. Nice and quiet clean and tidy. Big bathroom, deep bath pleanty of hot water. Bar and reading rooms to a very high standard. Breakfast good with lots of choice. Staff helpfull. Would recommend, going back soon for... more

Stayed overnight with extended family. Hotel was in a good location and easy to get to with ample parking. Reception, reading room etc is in traditional style with oak panels. Reception staff were very good. Room was fine, my bathroom had been recently updated. Plenty of shampoo etc to play with! Breakfast was very good, full english, with variations catered... more

A group of five couples had booked into the Orwell to attend a friends surprise party, we arrived at the hotel at the same time as another member of the party who was told that they had no reservation for them and that they were full. They were eventually given room 119. We were in the next room and heard... more

Apparently this hotel ran out of money to modernise any of its rooms! Although the downstairs area and suites had been renovated. If you like old fashioned dusty, dark and damp smelling hotels then this is the place for you! We stayed as a family of 3 consisting of 2 adults and a 10 year old. A camp bed which... more

I booked this hotel via late rooms at the last minute - £55 Bed and Breakfast. Food was very good. The older part of the hotel was very grand in particular the downstairs public rooms, however most of the bedrooms are in a 1960's extension which does not appear to have been decorated or refurbished since - peeling wallpaper and... more

The Hotel Elizabeth, Orwell Felixstowe Good size room, comfortable bed, could not fault evening meal, risotto starter was particularly delicious, roast beef from carvery and a googy pavola finished it off. Three other members of the family also enjoyed their meals. The full breakfast was available to those who wanted it and was included in the price. The staff at the hotel... more
