I recently returned for a tour suffolk with Alfa Travel and we stayed at this hotel our driver excellent and knowledge able which I could not fault. The staff where excellent however the building was in a poor state of repair and the whole of the building needed an up grade. The toilets where dirty, and need some disinfectant down... More

Recently visited with a large group of lady friends, first impressions on arrival were very poor due to poor repair of the building, however we did get a welcome cuppa. All areas were clean and tidy. The most upto date area being the Restaurant which appears to have been recently upgraded on decor to a 70s theme. Service on first... More

It's cheap and nasty. Don't stay here if you can afford anywhere else. It smells. It's dirty. The staff are completely useless. Apart from these minor problems it was a wonderful experience. ***********************************************************************************************************

Im afraid this once grand and charming hotel ( As I remember it 45 years ago) has indeed seen much better days. This was a trip down memory lane and after reading the reviews was not suprised to find it in a rather sad and shabby state, however that could have been overlooked if it wasnt for the rather dangerous... Tonight- Saturday August 2nd 2014, my husband and I should be staying in this hotel. We paid £70 for a seaview double room..We were given Room 312 which was on the 3rd floor...the lift which is the smallest I have ever seen only went to the 2nd floor so we had to climb stairs to get to our room. On... More

Nice and friendly staff but the hotel needs a big remodelation everything is to old me and my wife spend last night there. The view excellent if you stay in the rooms with sea view. I don't understand why at 2.30 pm we try eat something in the pub's hotel and a member of the staff said sorry we don't... More

If you're looking for your usual chain type hotel this isn't it - it's a throwback to the 70s with a bit of modern tinkering - the Marlborough is a collection of old houses joined together by a rabbit warren of staircases and archways - we were supposed to have a double Seaview but were upgraded to the honeymoon suite... My partner and I wanted to have a night away. After looking at reviews we decided to try this hotel. The room smelt, there was wallpaper peeling from the walls. We moved the television to try and get reception and the back of it was thick with dust which then flew everywhere!! I felt dirty just being there. We stayed... More

Hotel has seen better days which were a long long time ago. The fixtures and fittings are old and worn and the whole hotel needs renovated. The food is average but edible. The one saving grace are the staff who are very good and can't do enough to help.
