The Dales had everything for a perfect restful break - a peaceful extensive garden setting adjacent to Sheringham Park (NT); friendly, courteous staff; a delicious 3-course Sunday lunch (eaten in the sunny garden) which was excellent value; a delightful ground floor bedroom with quality furniture and furnishings - comfy... Great location but really not worth what we paid for the room. We were traveling with 2 dogs it's always difficult to find hotels. We returned to The Dales as a dog friendly hotel to find sadly the due care and attention missing. The bathroom in our room dark with missing light bulb, not replaced in 3 days, extractor not... We found this hotel by hunting around Internet. We stayed two nights and had a standard room. Food was very good and surroundings ie garden and forest park were excellent. Staff were very friendly. Only draw back for me having mobility problems was the bathroom could do with being a bit more user friendly. The shower is in the bath... More

Had lunch at the Dales yesterday and I have to say without question one of the best meals we have had out for many years. I had the fish and chips followed by a sticky toffee pudding to die for, my wife the smoked chicken followed my a lemon curd and mango dessert. Two lunches for £20 plus drinks in... More

My sister and I stayed here for 5 nights in May. The standard twin was fine for us. We booked on room only basis as we wanted the flexibility to eat out as well as in the hotel. We had one breakfast and 3 evening meals. We couldn't fault the food it was super. The staff too were very friendly.... More

Spent a very pleasant two nights at The Dales. We were part of a group of 36 people and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very good and the afternoon tea served in the garden was delightful.

Found this place by accident while walking in Sheringham Park ! We have been twice now for lunch which we enjoyed in the lovely garden setting . They also serve afternoon tea and I asked about gluten free options and they said if given notice they can adapt it to gluten free! Dogs are welcome too which is great !... More

Stayed for one night in this beautiful old place full of nice pieces of furniture and art. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A comfortable bed made our stay very pleasant and a free DVD we borrowed entertained us well. 4 stars hotel with a good service, quite pricey food Beautiful gardens with gigant chess and jenga :)
