As soon as we arrived at the hotel, a member of staff came out to greet us and took our luggage to our allocated room. Our room was spacious, with underfloor heating, large Georgian windows, thick curtains, fluffy, light warm duvets and pillows, a large television, a desk, and armchairs. The bathroom was also very spacious with an excellent shower... More

My lady was horrified as we turned into the discreet drive at the Beechwood Hotel and she spotted the AA sign with just two stars! But it’s a very old sign, the first of many old things we encountered, all of them good, none of them bad. Hotel reception desks are often used as barriers, but not here. The young... More

We stayed 2 nights in July 2014. We were lodged in the annexe which is separate from the main hotel. We only had 1 key between us which was very annoying if we wanted to go out separately. The room was incredibly small - we couldn't open our luggage without moving furniture and the bathroom was minute. The room ws... More

We used secret escapes for the first time and booked this for a 2 day break, wow what a great time, from the moment of checking in till we left the attention to detail is amazing. EVERY member of staff was friendly and generally wanted to talk and be helpful non off this false customer service, pure genuine customer care.... More

We can only say WOW, we've just had the most wonderful 2 day break at this beautiful hotel, from the moment we arrived when we were met at our car to have our luggage taken in, to the sad moment we left it was amazing. We had a secret escape deal but we're offered an upgrade to a 4 poster... More

We stayed for 2 nights in December and found this hotel to be a lovely place for a relaxing break before Christmas. The hotel is traditional in style and decor with very good customer service and a nice restaurant producing excellent food, we stayed B&B with dinner and would recommend this option as there do not appear to be many... This hotel has really friendly and helpful staff. They showed us to our room, at the front with a bay window, 4 poster bed and loads of space and several comfortable sofas and chairs, the bathroom had a slipper bath and a separate shower, the whole area was spotlessly clean. The 4 poster had all the traditional hangings, and canopy,... More

Attended a formal dinner which was excellent as always. The food, especially the duck starter was really very good as was the very personal service. All went well for the 50 diners. Drinks a little pricy but the wine we had was fine.
