This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel and we were very impressed. We spent five nights here and we had no complaints at all. We had booked a traditional room and although quite small was perfectly adequate and comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a beautiful roll top bath! The food was delicious and service spot... Food superb- as befits a 2 rosette restaurant. Excellent choice also at breakfast with lots of fresh fruit varieties and even local honey in the comb. Our double bedroom was comfy and well arranged but probably one of the smaller rooms- listed as a Classic - in the rear of the original old part of the building. Understandable as we... More

I had only just turned off the engine when someone was beside the car waiting to take our bags. And the experience continued to be outstanding from then on. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the public spaces welcoming with interesting pictures and information everywhere. As we sat in the bar prior to dinner, we almost felt as... More

We stopped here on a Secret Escapes night away for a change of the same four walls. Well, what a surprise! Barely out of the car and we were greeted with "Can I take your bags sir?" This was definitely a first for me, especially not have yet made it to reception and I'm pleased to say that it wasn't... More

A very good hotel where the staff go out of their way to make you welcome, we found the beds a bit to soft & location is a bit out of the way, but for a short break highly recommend & the evening meals fantastic.

My husband and I stayed here last week for four nights and had a truly wonderfull time. We had a room in the annexe and found this very restful and private. Meals were taken in the main hotel and you could'nt fault the quality of food and service given by the very helpfull staff, however I wished they would play... More

Very polite staff, realy good food and a lovely relaxed evening, and to my pleasant suprise I even got a birthday cake with a sparkler on it. Totally unexpected but very much appreciated. A little bit of thought goes a long way in my book, and this establishment... More

My husband had stayed here previously on business and suggested that we stay for a couple of nights, and I must say what a wonderful place to stay, the owners Don and Lindsay are perfect hosts and all their staff are extremely professional and friendly and make everyone feel special. We stayed in a garden room which was very comfortable... More

We stayed 2 nights mid-June in this lovely hotel. We had a room in the recently converted annexe which was well furnished and peaceful. The main hotel has lovely gardens where we enjoyed a tasty cream tea on arrival in beautiful sunshine, which lasted for the whole of our stay. The owners and staff could not do more to make... More

A genuinely uplifting experience. The whole place is superbly presented and the standard of service was first rate. I was taken by friends for Sunday lunch and I was very impressed. The meal itself was reasonably priced (set price for a very varied selection of courses) and beautifully presented. Locally sourced ingredients and cooked to a very high standard. The staff... More
