Spent a night and a day here with work colleagues on a team-building event. This hotel seems stuck in about 1957, which is mostly a very good thing: lots of old people having a good time; it's little spoiled by the late twentieth century; haunt of rotarians, freemasons, wedding parties, etc. Old-fashioned service, the whole thing verging on the staid, but on balance being a good thing if you can cope with the feel of years gone by and the need to behave in a slightly more genteel way than one (or at least I) would naturally do. Rooms are spacious and many have great sea views; some seem just very slightly dilapidated in that chain hotel way.

Restaurant menu is surprisingly tasty and innovative, given the overall feel; there's a great snooker room; there's a wonderful terrace and lawn on which to relax, with a summer house and sea views. Beyond the lawn are a few beach huts and then the sea. The fleshpots of 'new' Hunstanton are well away from here.
