My boyfriend and I stayed at The Scole Inn for a family wedding at the weekend and we were quite disappointed with our experience. Our room was very dirty and the staff had an attitude of everything was too much trouble. The staff had clearly never heard of service with a smile, as every interaction with them, whether at reception, in the bar or in the restaurant, was met with a grimace or a frown.

The building was lovely though, loads of character and history, it was just a shame that it wasn’t kept clean. Our room was a four poster room on the top floor and it was very dirty. The backs of the doors and large iron door hinges were absolutely thick with dust, there were cobwebs in the corners of the rooms and the carpet and sofa both had stains all over them. The bathroom was filthy as well, hairs were left in the bath and sink from the previous guests and behind the sink were more hairs and brown stains around the taps and plug holes.
