We had our wedding at Gissing Hall in May this year, and the hotel was a real find. It is a beautiful building, with lovely grounds, and a great sense of history. The staff (Harriet particularly), were wonderful, friendly and professional. They were really helpful, and the whole day went perfectly. The food was excellent (several guests commented on that),... more

We arrived to a lovely old building, good parking, pleasant grounds and were booked in promptly in order to go up to a beautiful large room with four poster bed and good bathroom. Events took a turn for the strange as we ventured down to the bar (which along with the 'restaurant' has a 1990's mdf makeover style - quite... more

We got married here in march 2009 and we can have nothing but praise for the staff at GH. We came for Valentines in 2008 and we so pleased with the service, they even made the effort to get some nut free chocolates to accommodate my allergy. Yes I wont deny that the hotel itself has an element of faulty... more

Generally a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff, however I am a little unsure as to why my colleague was booked into a small & cramped attic room when there only appeared to be 3 other guests at the hotel that evening. On entering the small attic bedroom (room 7) there was a slightly eerie feel and luckily my... more

Great Food, Fabulous Staff. A Hotel with real character & charm. It's a little bit tatty in places, but this just added to the charm of the place. We had such a fantastic weekend here. The staff were in the background, but attended to our every need quietly & efficiently. Jenny was great. Some of the rooms are a bit... more

My husband and I got married at Gissing Hall in September 2008. Granted, we were blessed with amazing weather but the staff at Gissing really played their part in making it the best day ever. The hotel is unique, a little out of the way but perfect in size. The ballroom is great for the ceremony and later the bar... more

Attended a wedding here. Beautiful building beautiful grounds, can't fault that. Can fault the dirty rooms and rude reception staff. Furniture was old and dated and rooms badly laid out- Can live with this, but not the dirty beds and filthy curtains, tablecloths etc. Tired and outdated, I would have been embarassed for my wedding guests to stay here. more

We were invited to a wedding, and the room was allocated to us by the wedding party, so we did not have much say in the matter. But when we were told what room we were allocated, we phoned the hotel as the description said Head room 75 inches which concerned us, also that we had a private bathroom. The... more

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Gissing Hall after our wedding, where we paid £260 to stay in the so called 'Bridal Suite'. At first, they receptionist gave us a key to a room which they tried to pass off as 'the bridal suite' but it didn't look at all like the one of the website, so we... more
