My wife and I were travelling by car from the English East coast to North Berwick on the Scottish East coast and we found The County a perfect place to break our journey both ways. It is just off the A1(M) and adds very little to the overall mileage. Our room in an adjoining building to the restaurant was compact... More

We had a fantastic weekend stay in The County to celebrate a wedding and the food was amazing, great service, very professional. Collette was very accommodating as we had a new born with us and a 4yr old. Loved the breakfast, eggs benedict was lush! Overall it was a fab weekend, a great place to stay and a lovely venue... We visited for lunch and although impressed by the pub and the staff we left feeling disappointed about the food. The menu was extensive, and the food tasted pretty good but the portion sizes and vegetables in particular were very poor. We eat out a lot and we've never been anywhere with such small side orders and at around £20... More

We found this restaurant in the Good Pub Guide and decided to stay here as well as sampling the beer. The room were lovely, just like a bedroom rather than a generic and bland hotel room. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. We were very comfortable in the room, the only slight issue was the shower cubicle, my fella is rather... More

Nice layout of restaurant. Quick efficient service. Having a bottle of wine served to u over the bar when your table is ready is not acceptable how ever. Enjoyed the meal but a little over priced. Wine also nice but cheapest decent bottle 20 pounds. Would go back tho.

I came for a mid-week lunch with a friend. We both ordered a sirloin steak ciabatta with thick and tasty chips from the lunch-time 'lite bites' menu (although the main restaurant menu is also available). The lunch time menu (which surprisingly isn't featured on their website) ranges between £6.95 and £8.50 and includes options such as eggs benedict. We appreciated... More

A new low in an industry called "hospitality" ... Tried to book a room for one night last week by using the phone number vividly displayed on the County website. Phone was answered by a woman who told me nobody was in the office and to book online or phone back after 2pm - there was no offer to take... More

Excellent sunday dinner. Fresh bread and water while your choice of the 4 meat courses and dinner is prepared. 2 dinners for £15 ( before 6:00pm). Roasties, meat, veg and a good draught dry cider. My beef melted in my mouth, crisp Yorkshire pudding and lovely gravy.

Absolutely no complaints, staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant serves a good variety and the food is always high quality. Rooms are decent size and we'll maintained, overall a great stay.

Stayed here last week while travelling - great location just off M1. The rooms had recently been refurbished and were lovely. The Staff very friendly. We booked dinner that night, menu was lovely and food did not disappoint. Breakfast next day which was included in price was beautiful. would definitely stay here again if in the area.
