I stayed for three days and was treated like family. Nancy is a wonderful host. I appreciated the tour of her home which has been in the family for more than 100 years. You can walk downtown (only a couple of blocks). I recommend Rockin on Main for a lunch or dinner. Popular with the locals and the home style... More

We had to do a long drive from IL to MD and decided to make an adventure of where we would spend the night midway. Our first hotel fell flat, but the Bailey House made up for it twice over! The house is in a tiny town without much there other than an adorable town center. The house though is... More

Had to go to a wedding there in Georgetown Ohio. We had never been to a bed and breakfast before. Were we surprised, the house was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the food was great. The folks treated us just like family. What motel could have offered this kind of treatment!

Wonderful experience for the serious U.S.Grant scholar. This B & B is located so near Grant/ history sites as to be able to look out the windows and see the structures and their placement in the park like community. The B & B has credible history itself; spacious rooms; modern accommodations - wonderfully attentive staff: the owner is a former... More

We stayed at The Bailey House because of its connection with Ulysses S Grant, since my husband and I have become presidential history buffs. The bed and breakfast is charming and delightful, and the hosts are very welcoming. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. Nancy gave us our own personal tour of Grant's childhood home right down the street, with... More

We loved our two night stay with Nancy at the Bailey House. There is so much history attached to the house and Nancy loves to tell it. It was in this home that U.S. Grant found out that there was to be a vacancy at West Point that perhaps he could get and he did!! His childhood home is just... More

My wife and I stayed at the Bailey House mid April for her 50th birthday. We had a wonderful weekend made even better by our stay at the Bailey House. Our hosts were the best ! The room was clean and cozy with a very comfortable bed. We had a very good breakfast both mornings and Nancy gave us a... More

Owner/Inn Keeper is very gracious and helpful. The owner/inn keeper's private tours of U.S. Grant's boyhood home and school were very informative and delightful. Suggestions as to what to see/do were most helpful. Great value. Photo shown is NOT of the Bailey House.

Dr. Bailey built this house across the street from Jesse Grant in 1832. Nancy Purdy's great-grandfather bought the house in 1876 after the Baily's passing. It's been in her family ever since and she and husband Stan have operated a B & B here since 1994. Most of the antique furnishing have come from Namcy's family. The house is a... More

The rooms were spacious and spotless with wireless internet available. Breakfast is served in a large dining area near a double parlor with ample seating. The rooms were upstairs. In-room desks were available if you needed. The lady who owns and hosts is extremely well connected to the local historical aspects of Brown county and freely shares her knowledge. She... More
