The Kings Arms is a combination of a good local pub, whilst being cosy and friendly for visiting tourists / occasional diners. The food is excellent with a varied menu, where the selection available is far more innovative and certainly more appetising than most. The ambience is superb with alcoves woodburners etc and a real homely feel. Importantly the beer... More

The Kings is the only pub remaining in our village but they aren't complacent. The food is consistently good and served in a pleasant welcoming atmosphere. I recommend it to locals and visitors Can't comment on the rooms/facilities

It was just a one night stay but I thoroughly enjoyed it and will happily go back again. We had dinner and I could not fault the food at all. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was good and hot, how it should be. Very enjoyable.

We stopped here on a Monday lunchtime on the way to a short to a short break in the lakes. It is a proper old fashioned village pub with a very pleasant ambience. It was very quiet, there was only one other customer, but the welcome was genuinely warm and friendly and the food and drink was freshly cooked and... More

One of those occasions where you read the reviews and feel pretty sure that going there for a meal is going to be worth the drive to get there, our experience today is that it wasn't. First of all the good points, the owners have put a lot of effort into "kerb appeal" the flowers outside the pub certainly catch... More

Visiting our son at Lancaster Uni, our first time bringing our 4 month old puppy with us, we were struggling to find somewhere that would welcome us and our dog for an evening meal. Popped in on the off chance, so pleased we did, wonderful food, ample portions, lovely staff and even a biscuit for our puppy from the landlord!... More

Called into this hotel for lunch when driving past on sightseeing trip. Had a coffee and partner had a larger while looking at the menu, found the service to be quick, good choices, ample portions, excellent food.

We stayed at the Kings Arms for two nights for a visit to Levens Hall which is nearby. The hotel is a very good base for the South Lakes. Its on the old A6 road and is very easy to find. It's a typical coaching pub with 6 bedrooms. Our room was very pleasant, with a four poster bed (that... More

Happened to phone just as someone had cancelled so managed to get a room. The room is compact but has everything you need (TV and drinks/biscuits). The evening meal was very enjoyable with a great selection and first class service. Breakfast was also very good.

We stopped to find a bed for the night and the only rooms available were up two flights but the landlady called the B&B across the road and they had a room which was more suitable as I was on crutches. Not many hotels will send you to their competitors and forfeit a money making opportunity it was pleasing to... More
