Stayed here for 3 nights in February 2008 for the opening of the global seed vault. This was a major event with lots of VIPs, world media etc. So the hotel was packed and my room was probably among the most basic ones down in the basement. But it was still perfectly ok. As others have said, having been located... more

A really nice hotel. The only thing that was bothering me was the noice of a washing mashine in the mornings. We had the room next to cleaners storage. The location is aswome, close to everithing, well Longyearbyen is not that big. more

We stayed at Radisson SAS Polar Hotel for four nights, March 6-10 2009. We arrived in Longyearbyen after a 5 days roatrip between Bergen and Oslo. We were a group of four friends. Until then, we had always chosen the cheapest option for accommodation (family rooms in budget hotels), thus we had no expectations regarding the family apartment we had... more

I visited Longyearbyen and Radisson SAS Polar Hotel in July 2008 with my husband and my two children, age 3 and 4. All was great. Friendly staff, good food, clean room and warm sauna. Sauna was very nice after swimming in Arctic Ocean... :) Finnish people! We had our 10th wedding anniversary. Anniversary dinner in hotels restaurang was good. Setting... more

It is difficult to judge this hotel only by quality of accommodation. If this one was situated anywhere else in the world it would be just another mid range hotel, but here at northern end of the world things are little different. In early Jan it was the only one open out of three in Longyearbyen. Hotel itself consists of... more

Did a Solo trip to see the summer Artic and stayed here for a few nights. Beautiful view from hotel - especially in the midnight sun. Woken the 1st morning by a reindeer lowing outside my window! Warm and cozy and right in the centre of Longyearbyen. Very expensive - but this is Norway. Food was beautiful. more

Hotel is located a short walk from the main shopping street, restaurants, museum and next door to a tour operator. Our room was a standard room with two single beds on the ground floor so we didn't have much of a view as the snow was still quite high. The rooms are basic in appearance but it fits in with... more

Stayed at the Radisson 7th Aug 2008, as part of my pre accomodation for my Arctic Ship Expedtion. My room was lovely, I ended up with a Suite, complete with bathrobe and slippers. I swear the floors were heated, as they were nice and warm on cold bare feet. The room was large , well set out and I had a... more

Stayed at the hotel in May 2008. We had a nice twin room with own kitchenette. Our room was in the separate building. A very nice thing was the free wireless Internet access. I particularly liked the Barents Pub, great food and beer. In the evening of the independence day, 17 May we ate a really great special independence buffet.... more

I liked it.

The hotel is good. The food is good. The rooms are good. The view is good. It is one of the more comfortable hotels I have stayed in and considering the price and where it is, it is relatively good value. The midnight sun is not ideal for sleeping and there could have been darker blinds but jetlag fixed that... more
