This is as close to backpacker accommodation as you're going to find in Longyearbyen. It's also as cheap as you're going to find. Or in our case the only accommodation still available, which was fine. It's a little out of the main drag, maybe a couple of k's and the accommodation is quite basic, but it's got everything you need.... More

Hotels are quite expensive in Longyearbyen, but this hostel like guest house is actually a good and cheap alternative. The rooms are very basic, and toilets and showers are placed along the hallway. There is a continental breakfast included and it is quite nice, a bit like what you would eat for breakfast at home. Everything is clean, and the... More

Basic, clean and excellent value. A perfect base for Svalbard. Yes, it is on the edge of town. However as Longyearbyen is very quiet the 35min walk was a much appreciated distraction. I'm not the fittest of people and managed the slope back to the hotel quite easily at a slow and steady pace. Even with a ridiculous amount of... More

A really great value for Longyearbyen. Clean rooms and bathrooms, breakfast included and the location is nice too as it is away from all the other hotels and shopping centre. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay here on my next adventure to Svalbard.

Given the relatively small choice this is the best value accommodation in longyearbyen after camping. The airport bus starts and stops between guesthouse 102 and spitsbergen hotel, so finding and getting to the hotel is easy. Walking to and from longyearbyen might be a problem for older and disabled people due to the steep road leading up to the hotel,... More

Best deal in Longyearbyen. Despite all the rest being very expensive, this guesthouse maintain a decent price according to the location. The 20 minutes walking to the city center is not a problem at all. Great thing the breakfast included and the towels, but incredibly missing the free Wifi. There is Wifi, but you have to pay for it. Didn't... More

The host (Tround) is always available. Take some vacation man! He booked all our activities and taught us a lot of this beatutiful island. We loved the place, so calm and cozy. good atmosphere. Breakfast was good, even for my wife who has gluten allergy.

Yes, it is expensive. It is Norway, AND it is the Arctic! If you want a cheap vacation, then go to the equator, not the Poles. The rooms, and the public areas are very well kept, and the location, though a bit out of town, is beautiful and quiet. Trond, the owner\manager, lives in the basement flat, and is ALWAYS... More

My husband and I do not eat meat and in general we are picky eaters. We also do not eat processed, packaged junk food but we travel about 260 days a year. So, we need a kitchen in almost every where we go. This guesthouse in May was almost empty which made it even a more special place. The kitchen... More

I have just stayed at Guesthouse 102 for 5 days as part of a group. It's a great guesthouse, like a posh hostel really, with basic rooms and shared bathrooms. The showers are great, and even when the guesthouse was full, always free, and breakfast is included. There is a full kitchen with shared fridges to store food and make... More
