This small Chateau in the lovely village of Siran was a welcome break for us having driven down from the Eurotunnel. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful, we were fed and watered superbly. We stayed for 4 nights, a very central position with a beautiful area to explore. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully we will... More

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this quirky chateau. A warm and friendly greeting awaited us upon arrival. Our large room with balcony overlooking the pool was comfortable with a mixture of old and new blended together. I adored the hand finished lime plaster work on the walls that must date back hundreds of years, but was... More

This chateau claims to have been "deeply renovated" however we found it deeply depressing. Uninspired food with a lack of ambience made for a truly unpleasant dining experience. A main course of a duck breast sat next to a cooked peach was not the gourmet meal we had hoped for. Our room was dark, dull and in need of a... More

I stayed as part of the Walkabout Gourmet Group 2014 Our room was beautifully appointed, with outdoor area, clean and with nice comfortable beds We enjoyed the food and wine of the area. The staff were lovely and very obliging with smiles too always willing to accommodate our lack of communication abilities in the French language- we tried! Breakfast with... More

Like other reviewers, we were looking for somewhere in Minerve but discovered Siran. Within easy reach of Carcassonne Airport, the tiny village of Siran is centrally located for exploring the Languedoc, surrounded by vineyards, with the Montagne Noir looming in the distance, and the Canal du Midi a short cycle ride away. I'm sure all the rooms are delightful, but... More

We ended up in Minerve late in the day with no place to stay and found the Chateau de Siran in a pamphlet at the Minerve tourism office. We were very lucky to be able to get two rooms here, one for us and one for our two moms. What a gorgeous place - spotlessly clean and an excellent atmosphere.... More

Thank you very much for your comment. We want our guests to feel at home in our big old house. With all the modern comforts but also the atmosphere of a family home of nearly 300 years. We hope you come back to visit the Minervois. We will help you to discover its wonderful heritage, wild nature with orchids, its... More

Stayed 4 nights here in early September; made very welcome by the owners who were keen to share their knowledge of the area, and organised bike hire along the Canal du Midi. Food is excellent, and very good value; rooms were airy and very clean. Siran is a lovely village which is worthwhile walking around, very much a working village... More

Thank you for your encouraging comment. We could not have described our hotel better than you do. Thank you for being such good ambassadors. You came in late summer. Note that the fall is beautiful in Minervois. especially in late October early November. The vineyards and the surrounding forests turn red, yellow and even purple. And what about the spring.... The hotel is a classic French chateau albeit quite small. It has all the classic furnishings and decoration you would expect but at the same time it as been well modernised. The hotel itself as a sleepy relaxing character ideal to pass those long summer days in Languedoc. We didn't eat here as my children are a little bit fussy... More

Thank you for your nice comment. We do not have a special place for kids but we do have a family room consists of 2 bedrooms. Each with its own bathroom, her clothes, her TV ... Our small pool, in a courtyard, has a swim against the current. It is easy to swim. We also have free access to a... More

Had an excellent stay here with the rooms having been redecorated. Meal in restaurant was excellent though a bit void of atmosphere / buzz. A little more panazz with the front of house and this hotel would be first rate

Thank you for your comment. For wi-fi, we have done our best by positioning terminals throughout this house of nearly 300 years with very thick walls. So if the thick walls provide a true sound comfort, it is also true that they are sometimes obstacles to the airwaves. We are considering the possibility of making available wired terminals to our... We stayed here and the food was excellent .... My only complaint was there was not enough sun and chairs around the pool area. All in all very enjoyable and would recommend. The owner was very helpful in advising us on wine and tourist destinations.

Thank you for your very nice comments and especially for your opinion on my kitchen ... that touches me personally. We added chairs at the pool and installed small places in the quiet garden which is much more ornate this year. We hope to see you in our beautiful Minervois. Nadège and Gerard. More
