We are a group of 8 people on a holiday in Meghalaya. Had booked Aerodene cottage after reading through reviews on tripadvisor. The place lived up to every word that was written about it. We were greeted by the complete staff on our arrival. A special thanks to Sharlene Das and Rukma Sen for being such accommodating and helpful hosts.... More

I went for a business trip. the rooms are very nice, food is very good (home made type), good place just outside the hustle of the city. If you visit shillong, i would suggest that you should stay at this place. The main Police Bazaar Area is 2 km from this location but this place will be less noisy and... More

First impression of the outside area was not that impressive. We booked 2 rooms with a personal sit out. The sitting area made our stay successful. This place is clean.very friendly staff. Rukma is running this place and she is a lovely lady.extremely helpful. Breakfast was served to us in a grand manner. A fire place in the sitout is... More

This was the only good part about the trip.Beautiful property and tastefully done up rooms. It was so pretty that we dint want to leave our rooms. And Sharlene Das the owner was wonderful and accommodating. We stayed in the heritage cottage and would definitely return again.

At first we booked the slightly cheaper Executive room but requested an upgrade to the heritage cottage after we took a look at this quaint and beautiful place. Fortunately we could get room 3 which had its own little garden. I was blown away at the attention to every detail, the food and the warmth of the staff. Yes, we... More

The place has a charm of its own. I really liked the way they have chosen the names of each of the rooms - by a name of a flower. The rooms are nice, and very well decorated. Bathroom - even better! Food reminds one of authentic "Ghar ka khana". I personally found that the staff are extremely helpful, and... More

A holiday, poor thing, begins its life burdened by a lot of expectations. Often it is impossible for these frequently utopian expectations to be realised, but Aerodene Cottage managed to exceed my expectations brilliantly. I wouldn’t hesitate to call it one of the best places I have stayed at. Aerodene is undoubtedly beautiful with its lovely garden and cosy stone... More

Aerodene Cottage made a lasting impression on us. It's now the benchmark against which we compare other hotels/b&b's. We stayed there for 3 nights in a room that was large enough to accommodate all of us..two adults with 2 young teenagers. Without bumping into each other. Each of us had our separate beds and the kids just loved the pastel... More

Lovely stay - definitely not for people who like to booze and create chaos. The rooms are adjacent to each other and every possibility of disturbing the neighbours. We were lucky not to face that. Good garden area to read a book, relax. Not for people who want something or the other at all times and who are restless. Just go... More

Beautiful vintage cottage that has been converted into a B&B. A traveller's delight. Cosy. comfortable. Great hospitality. We cancelled our booking in another recommended hotel to extend our stay here. Highly recommended.

As tourism picks up in Meghalaya, there is a huge demand for homestays in heritage buildings like Aerodene Cottage. Built in 1950 in the Assam style of architecture prevalent during the British Raj, the structure was designed keeping in mind the high rainfall in the region and low winter temperatures. Despite the challenge in maintaining such a building, this boutique guest house provides all the comforts of home, combined with modern amenities and top service, giving guests a taste of the old English cottage. ... more   less
