All of us were very satisfied with the facility, the staff, and with the owners Elmie and Jim. We stayed here for several days while doing business in Shillong. I was extremely happy with the hospitality and courtesy of the staff and the owners. To be a little more specific: Atmosphere: Excellent. It was very pleasant to relax on the patio every evening for drinks, dinner and conversation. Rooms: My room was excellent. The internet worked very well.... More

If you've read the previous review, we were the other family travelling with Dr Kala and were given the room with no windows. Finding it a little strange, I decided to quiz the manager about the same and he very sheepishly admitted that it used to be a spa earlier. The rack rate for this room was about Rs.11000, which... To be fair, interiors are 'out of this world'.The furnishings are very aesthetic and artistic. However, being a modified house,it is located in a mohalla. An open drain flows in front of the gate and the cattle shed across the ten feet wide road is cause of smells and mosquitos. The nearby golf-course is used by general public as an open park during the day... I've traveled extensively, throughout India (and the rest of the world), and this is one of the most enjoyable stays I've ever experienced. The rooms are beautifully decorated; the staff is extremely friendly; the food is fantastic; the decor and ambience throughout the entire facility is a sight to behold. I heartily recommend the Lakkhotaa Lodge to anyone looking for... More

We had initially planned to arrive a day earlier but postponed because we realized that we couldn't make it from Guwahati to Shillong at night.. The hotel was very gracious and didn't charge us for the night. When we reached there the next day we were effusively greeted by the owner and everyone else in sight.. Made us feel right... More

I traveled to Shillong last year for my First outing after marriage. The decision to go to Shillong was protested by every one with whom I shared. I became skeptical, and searched for Hotels/Resorts in Shillong. The search results showed many hotels/resort. So I began calling all one by one. The last call I made was to Lakkhotaa Resort and... Shillong: Lakkhotaa Lodge We stayed in Lakkhotaa Lodge for 3 nights in April 2011. It's a very well provisioned and well maintained property near Shillong Golf Club. It's a small boutique kind of hotel, supposedly Feng-Shui compliant, which we did not care about. But it was evident all the woodwork inside, including the furniture, were custom-build. None of them are... More
