Traveling on to Lake Erie where we stopped at Geneva on the Lake. Stopped at a winery where someone recommended we spend the night see the area in the day time and drive to Erie. In the morning. Since it was not in season a lot of places were closed but the people and local businesses opened were all very... More

Just returned from the Anchor. Nice clean cottages with all the amenities. Our cottage had a living room with direct tv and free wi-fi, full kitchen, two bedrooms, double beds and a bathroom. We had a patio outside our cottage and there was plenty of green space, picnic tables and fire pit available. A little off the strip so was... More

This was my 2nd visit to this motel only because it was a last minute visit/stay at GOTL. 1st visit made me aware that it was some-what do-able(considering the other holes in town)for this dying winery attraction but since we were "wined up" enough to make the 2nd stay tolerable! No aircondtioning! Hair in the shower as if someone had... More

After reading all the reviews and having a love of 1950ish motels, we picked the Anchor for our first visit. I didn't feel all the "love" and family feel that was expressed by all the reviews, but got some good dining advice from the maintenance man. The rooms were extremely clean and had everything we needed for a one night... More

Our rooms were extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. Nothing fancy, but we just wanted a good place to sleep. There are refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms, but no hair dryer, so you might want to bring one of those. The motel is close to a lot of attractions. It might not be the best place for older... More

I've stayed all over the U.S. I have never met nicer people, than the couple who owns the Anchor. Cathy & Phil made my vacation. As soon as my husband and I arrived we felt like we were part of a new family. After all her guest were checked in Cathy passed out magaritas, they weren't too strong, but I... More

Not a lot of frills, but has absolutely everything you need. Owners and staff are excellent and very low key - provided some great recommendations (including Pieori's and Mary's ... excellent!). Great outdoor bar/restaurant (Lakeside) on the water which was good for drink/appetizer and minimart within a few steps. I would definately stay here again.

I stayed here with two girlfriends in one of the motel rooms. Clean room. Perfectly fine for our needs. Close to the strip - we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. This is an old hotel - but everything was in good repair and very clean.

We stayed in one of the cottages and were pleased at how clean and quiet it was. 10/10 for cleanliness! But the bedrooms (2) were too small and felt closed in. The beds were hard and terribly uncomfortable. The shower in the bathroom was WAY too small. Maybe I'm being a little bit too picky because overall it was extremely... More

I am the lady who took my 12 yr. old kitty to the "pet friendly" motel. I will admit that I was wrong to tell the manager that I have my kitty in the "suite" after the fact. We were in the room for 30 minutes...at which time the owner came to the room and told me to remove my... More
