We had a wonderful 2-night stay here, delicious food and kind staff, with entertainment in the form of a marching band (with 2 bagpipes!) and a hilarious pet dog that nipped at their heels as they marched. We spent the evenings in the garden by the fire but the rooms were magical - a bit spooky and eccentric, but full... More

Had a wonderful and plesant stay at the heritage property. Amazed by the old world charm...every little things. And very rich organic garden. Ideal for family get togethers. Courteous staff..And caring owner..they called to check how are we..! Thanks for having us.

Grand old english manor in the hills of India, now converted into what feels like an eccentric hotel. We stayed a night arriving around lunch time and ate a fabulous buffet lunch out in the open courtyard...very Marigold Hotel. Wandered around the historic town in the afternoon and sat down to an early evening dinner that was beautifully catered for.... More

The hotel is set in peaceful gardens just a short walk from the Heritage Village of Pragpur, an interesting place to get lost in for half a day. Some rooms are in the main building, some at the side of the lawn and some in a 2 storey building off the main drive. The rooms in this are very large... More

Judgescourt is a little gem in the Kangra district with the nearest railhead being approx 30 kms at Amb. Caution: Please book your train journey right upto Amb and not Una, as told on their website. Plusses: Quite village, quite and green property, a private estate with dollops of history behind it Very polite, helpful and accommodating staff A very... More

Pragpur ,about 70 kms from Dharmashala ,is declared as a Heritage Village. The village existing since circa 1860s is a cluster of old houses, most of them in dilapidated condition. Along with, mud plastered houses ,there are also charming wooden structured houses with architecture of yesteryears. There is a large water pond and narrow cobbled streets. It is a unique experience to walk... More

I really enjoyed our stay here - comfortable beds, dinner on the lawn and who can go past a g &t in a wicker chair on the veranda of an evening! For a place that purports to be at the upper end I was disappointed to find the standard instant coffee for breakfast though. Access to the village and being... More

This is a charming hotel, with heaps of character and history throughout. This definitely not a four star hotel, and is probably not even a three star, but it is the charm that wins. Our room was fine, with all facilities, however, the hot water for the bathroom was via a geyser haven't seen that for years. Evening dinner was... More

We stayed here for two nights travelling between Dharamsala and Shimla and had Room 1 in the annexe which was very comfortable with a large adjoining shower room. Two sofa's to relax in as well. The main house is a very short stroll away and one was fed very well in a separate dining room out the back though largely... More

From the minute you arrive at this hotel, you feel you are stepping back into history. The owners Mr and Mrs Lal met us and made us very welcome with afternoon tea on the lawn. We were shown to our room which was very large and very comfortable, Connaught Room. It had all the facilities you need including free wi... More
