One of best places in Himachal, where solitude seeking individuals would love to spend time. It is also a place where extroverts can find their groove. The owners (Christopher & Shefali) are the best when it comes to servicing guests from making sure food is perfect to regaling you with stories. Amazing food - yeah its on overused expression, but... The Himalayn Trout House is one of the hidden gems in Himachal Pradesh. Me and My wife have stayed there for 3 days in June, 2013. We have got amazed by the beauty of Tirthan River and its surrounding by the untouched beauty of the hills, wildlife, fruit orchards and waterfall. This is one of the most beautiful rivers I... More

We stayed at the Himalayan Trout House with my two little daughters last year in Oct 2012 and we fell in love with the place. Mornings we would go for walks, evenings were spent at the property chatting with Christopher and Shefali who own the place, and eating Shefali's personally supervised yummy food.... specially the wood fired pizzas! The atmosphere... More

Quiet far away from the nearest junction Aut, takes 900 bucks and 26 odd kms. the weather was quiet hot so if your looking to cool off your heals there are many other places in himachal. the rooms for 1700/day were like a 500 rupee shack & for the same price if moved to a rooom it was quiet dingy... We visited Himalayan Trout house in the last week of June and spent a couple of hours there and had lunch. Actually, we were staying at Banjara Retreat Shoja (about 25km away towards Jalori pass) and did a trip to the Trithan River. Banjara Retreat Manager (Mr Rishi) adviced us to have lunch at Himalayan trout house and in fact... More

The trout house is a little piece of heaven hidden in a small town of Himachal Pradesh. I visited the place with 10 friends and all of us were in awe of the resort, the atmosphere and the untouched and unspoilt beauty of the hills. The trout house may be a fishing enthusiasts paradise but even if you're not going... More

Stayed there end June 2012 with my family. We were very pleased with the accommodation - a stone hut as they call it - very clean and neat. Had trout twice at the gazebo and it was excellent. Shefali runs the kitchen - and is very good at it. Christopher is great company in the evening with lots of stories.... More

This resort is run by Mr. Christopher, a renowned angler. Located off the Manali highway (Himachal Pradesh, India)on the banks of river Tirthan, accommodation is in huts/cottages. Not luxurious, but quite comfortable and reasonably priced. The main attraction of the place is an opportunity to try ones hand at hooking some rainbow trout. Fly fishing requires great skill, and I... More
