The room isn't clean by no means. My girlfriend cleaned everything before she would take her things out or get comfortable. The rag she used was originally white and it turned a nasty brown blackish color. The toilet is messed up you hold the handle down till it flushes and hopefully it works the first time. THEY ENTERED OUR ROOM... More

Disgusting. We don't mind old, but when you can plainly tell that it's not clean... Yuck. The sheets were dirty, stains on everything... Just plain gross. I'm glad we brought our own blanket. We didn't want the unknown touching our skin. Couldn't wait to leave. It was cheap, though.

The perils of booking with Hotwire, which has never failed me before, or perhaps the karma of Elyria led myself and two family members to 3 nights in this dank pit of a 'hotel' . Let's run down the list: stained and burned carpet, cracked tile, hastily painted baseboard (painted the tile floor too..), TP roller broken, dirty towels, burns... More

Even a roach wouldn't stay here! I booked reservations through the member program TripRewards, after having viewed the hotel photos online. Since I was unable to arrive before the 6 PM cancellation limit, our group asked to see the rooms prior to checking in. It was not even worthy of the one star rating that is the lowest possible on this... More

This place was disgusting. The entire building appeared to be in a state of disrepair. I could hardly open the door because the carpet was peeling up in front of it. The first thing that hit me was the smell - a mixture of urine and smoke (even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room). The window would... More

This is an above average dive of a place. Room had a tiny bathroom with barely enough room to use the toilet. Old washrag was hanging on the back of the bathroom door, and trash was behind the door. On the up side, the rest of the room was pretty clean. A/C made a lot of noise but worked. Oddly,... More

I'm afraid I'll never stay at any HoJo again. I wish I have checked reviews here before booking my room. This motel is exactly like the other reviews say: noisy, filthy and ill-kept. The sound of passing trucks indeed makes it hard to sleep. The rooms, the lobby and the exterior are indeed in desperate need of repair, better yet... More

This hotel is very dirty and unkept. Lamps and alarm clocks had frayed wiring. Bedding looked EXTREMELY dirty. When complained about room, manager did not see anything wrong and would not reimburse money for room. My daughters and I ended up sleeping in car. The bathroom wall had a hole in it and looked like it was not cleaned in... More

we were planning on staying at this hotel. the prices were reasonable but the picture online does not show the real aspect of this hotel. its very misleading and when we went to elyria we were very taken back by what we saw. Its very misleading and not worth the price. When we called them personally to make reservation we... More
