First the best part, the staff tries... The room is dusty, the towels are small and rough, the carpets need a shampoo, the restuarant tables are sticky, the bedspread had stains, it's not near the campus (unless you have a shortcut throught the graveyard) The location next to the river is scenic if your rooms face that way. Stayed here for a function at Ohio State. Not really within walking distance of the campus if it is cold out. But, definitely doable on game day. This is certainly an unassuming location sandwiched in between a pizza place and a small one-story office building. The sign isn't very easily picked out of the many signs on the road and the garish orange paint didn't inspire confidence. But all that was before we stepped into this gem. The smell of mildew in the rooms has to be covered, so the Air Conditioner units have an "air freshener" smell blasting through the fan. I stayed here while visiting Ohio State in the spring of 2001. The hotel is okay, but I was disappointed after hearing what a great hotel this is. Prices are comparable to the Hyatt downtown, but the hotel is at best Holiday Inn quality. My room was large and clean, but the furniture, bedding and carpet were mediocre quality. Expect... more
