We excitedly planned a family getaway to Salt Fork Resort. We booked a cabin. I regret that decision immensely. The cabin was disgusting. The floor in the bathroom was about to fall in due to a leaky shower. The carpet was stained and extremely dirty. The couch was stained and dirty as well. The screened in porch might as well... more

I recently went here on a business trip for a corporate retreat. The park itself is isolated. The park gates are about nine miles from the center of town, but once you reach the gates, you still have a bit of driving, as the lodge is seven miles within the park. Further, you'll be driving at very low state park... more

My husband and I spent a long weekend at a lakeside chalet cabin at Salt Fork State Park. The cabin was decent. It was generally pretty clean, but a bit musty smelling and had a lot of cobwebs and dead bugs on the screened in porch (which was missing half the screens) - but this is a State Park, so... more

Spent 2 nights in a cabin at the state park. Cabin had 2 bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with 2 bunk beds. Very clean. Great value for $99 a night more

We took a family trip here over Christmas. Book two rooms off the internet at 88.00 a night. We had side by side rooms. Inn was not busy and was really pretty decorated for Christmas. Was very cold outside but the fire was really warming in the lodge. The room was very nice. Bed was in great shape. Our rooms... more

A few years ago ( 2005) we went for a weekend at Salt Fork State Resort Lodge-- and enjoyed the park but has our stay ruined by being assigned to a "smoking" room. We had an "ionizer" running all that weekend-- well good news Ohio-- ALL the rooms at Salt Fork State Resort Lodge are ( drum roll) NON-SMOKING now.... more

Pros: - Room was clean when we got there - Swimming pools nice and open late (and close to rooms) - Nice game room for the kids - Pool has a bar with the best Pina Coladas ever - Deer come right up to you at night which was sort of cool Cons: - The restaurant there is a total... more

We have visited the Salt Fork State Park numerous times to boat, and have always commented that it would be fun to stay here sometime. Well, we are just back from our "trial run" and are making plans to return! We booked a king size bedroom at the lodge, because the cabins required a two night stay. We brought an... more

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay at Salt Fork Resort. We had never stayed at a state park before and really did not know what to expect. We were expecting rustic and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. We had a queen standard room facing the woods on the first floor. The room was large... more

Arrived on Memorial Day w/ seven of my college buddies from Cleveland, Ohio (2+ hours away) to find that the cabin we had booked in December had been accidentally over-booked and someone else was staying there for the week. Upset, the Lodge did not let me down. They gave me side by side POOLSIDE rooms for the first night, FREE!... more
