A trip to Salt Fork and the Wilds was a Mother's Day dream. My husband and I have traveled through quite a few states seeking peaceful places to view flora and fauna, and we found that haven here. Resting on a king-sized bed adorned with breathable sheets (I can't stand the synthetic stuff) and a down comforter prepared us for... More

This year the whole family (about 8 of us) stayed at Salt Fork for Mother's Day weekend. Though the weather wasn't what we hoped for, we were still impressed! Even if it's rainy, there is still plenty to do. The pool is very nice and clean. The game room is good sized - gotta love ping pong tournaments with the... More

We have camped in the campground (section A), stayed at the cabins (hillside), and most recently again stayed at the lodge. Our visits to the park are always memorable and fun. There is so much to do at the park our time spent there never seems to be enough. There are rockers in the common area facing the pool side... More

The lodge at Salt Fork was pleasant and well maintained, and the grounds were beautiful. My balcony overlooked a field, then woods, and I saw deer crossing the field at dusk. The fire pits were a nice touch outside, and the big fireplace inside adds a cozy place to sit and relax. The refrigerator was unexpected but very useful, and... More

I've stayed in the cabins, the family bunk bed room, and recently, the new king hospitality suite, room 275. The cabins are worn and dirty. Basically camping but with walls. The family bunk bed room was made for kids. It was shabby and dirty with "kid" type dirt and smudges everywhere. On the curtains and everywhere at kid height. The... More

I found a special that the lodge was having for new years. The package included dinner.. party favors..two night stay..and late check out. Good price .. I just remember what it was. The room was not very clean and smelled like smoke. The front desk told us they were full but after argueing with manager we finally got another room.... More

We stayed one night at the Salt Fork Lodge. The room was very nice and very clean. The beds sheets were crisp and inviting. Our room had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Wish we had a balcony overlooking the lake. It was a cool April day and the massive stone fireplace was a warm retreat. We sat there for... More

My spouse and I stayed Friday afternoon thru Sunday morning. AS it turned out, it was the annual Bigfoot Conference so the place was packed. As we learned, the event happens every year yet the facility seemed unprepared. There was a wait for breakfast even though there were empty tables and the staff was overwhelmed. Slow service, overcooked eggs, no... More

The rooms are not super nice. They have quite a bit of wear and tear. About average for an Ohio State Park. They were, however very clean. We met the cleaning staff twice during our stay and both times they were extremely pleasant. They do a great job. Same goes for the front desk and gift shop staff. The grounds... More

My husband and I have stayed at all of the Ohio State Park Lodges over the last several years, but we had never visited Salt Fork Lodge. We stayed three nights, and totally enjoyed our visit. We were in the section of the lodge that faces the cabins and the lake. It is an excellent area to stay in...very quiet.... More
