We stayed this summer--a result of successfully bidding on an overnight visit for the whole house during last year's Preservation North Dakota conference. I brought my husband and an author, Madelyn Camrud, from New Rivers Press, where I work. We made a very big deal out of our overnight stay, calling the event Bookin' it at the B&B. Kara Kramin... I would highly recommend staying at the Three Oaks Guest Inn if you plan to visit Valley City. The accommodations were GREAT and having the use of the entire house was perfect. The Inn is filled with lovely antiques and period pieces. The kitchen was welled stocked with utensils to cook a hearty breakfast in the morning. Special thanks to... More

I stayed at Three Oaks en route from Montana to Minnesota, and again on my return trip. I arrived in the evening and left the next morning, and mostly wanted a quiet place to sleep (I am very sensitive to noise). On both stays I was the only guest in the house -- it doesn't get much quieter than that,... More

Stayed at the Three Oaks Guest Inn with some family and friends the night of our daughter’s wedding. Had gift opening the following day. Very quaint and charming alternative to a hotel. Owners are very hospitable and attentive to the needs of their guests, would recommend to anyone. We enjoyed it very much.

The place was great! Lots of room. On the river. Great value. Comfortable beds. Kara was accommodating and went out of her way to make sure our needs were met. Good self-catered breakfast. She asked us what kind of juice we would like for our breakfast and went out and got it and other breakfast items before we arrived. We... More

We rented this charming older home for a wedding this past weekend. It was a great place to chat with old college friends. There were 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, a full kitchen, a full dining room, lots of seating, and adequate parking for just under $200 (including taxes) for the night. We saved money by not renting hotel rooms, plus... More

Whenever I come back to Valley City, for vacations or work, I always stay at the Three Oaks. It is an up-to-date guest inn, but decorated to resemble a home. I like to avoid the noise and generic feeling of hotels, plus this place is well taken care of, that I don't have to worry about bugs, or shady people... More
