Last month in May, my boyfriend and I visited Montebenichi for dinner at a wonderful restaurant of the place. Our intention was to have a couple of cocktails before dinner and see some rooms at the "Castelletto". We are living in the area, we are Italians and didn't want to stay for the night for sure, but this Hotel was... More

Just to add to all the other five star reviews - this place is heaven. It's like being admitted to someone's wonderful private home. The place is restored with exquisite taste. We also dined in San Guzmé and were so impressed we went back two days later. I absolutely loved every minute of it - and photographs just don't do... More

Really don't have the words that do justice to our experience at the Castelletto. Just an amazing place, built in the 1100s. The atmosphere is incredible. Very clean. The little village it is in up on a hill is right out of the middle ages. Very nice little restaurant in the village, awesome food and atmosphere. Can't add anything that... More

My wife and I are just back from 4 nights of spectacular service, luxurious accommodations, and gracious hospitality at Castelletto de Montebenichi. While the photos we had seen on the property's website were impressive, they hardly do justice to the beautiful property/town and impressive views of the Tuscan countryside available at Marco's mountaintop paradise. Where to begin. A wonderful breakfast... More

Staying in old castles has never quite worked for us-until now. Castelletto di Montebenichi is beautifully restored and graciously hosted by its owner, Marco. Marco was there at breakfast to visit and offer assistance. He was there at cocktail hour to visit and mingle with his guests. We felt like special houseguests in this wonderful castle which, infact, is truly... More

We just got back from our first trip to Italy and stayed at the Castelletto from April 20-22, 2008 - far too short! The hotel is located in the tiny village of Montebenichi, which only has 50 residents. From the time or our arrival which we received a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful suite with gorgeous period decor we received... More

This is in no way an ordinary hotel. Having stayed at many highly recommended properties in France and Italy, I was very pleasantly surprised by the perfection at Montebenichi. Wanting to experience several locations, we only booked two nights here and we were truly said to leave. The tiny village contains a wonderful restaurant steps from the hotel and lots... More

I never knew that a hotel in Tuscany could make you feel like king and queen.. "The castle," as my father coined it 2 years ago, was highly recommended to us for a perfect Tuscan honeymoon. Although we only stayed for two nights, we fell in love with the laid back Chianti life. Our room was in the "lookout tower"... More

If you are travelling to Tuscany, the Castelletto di Montebenichi is a treasure. Very well located between Arezzo and Siena (about 30 minutes from Siena), it is an experience of a lifetime. This is an authentic castle, with remarkable public rooms (library, living room, breakfast terrace) but comfortable as well. The best word I can think of is "gracious". Marco,... More

For those of you who want to get out of the big cities and experience the real deal this is it! A luxurious place of relaxation and exploration. You just won't believe it when you walk in the door! Easy to explore the whole region by car for day trips but make sure you take time just to enjoy the... More
