Fantastic stay in the heart of McLaren Vale wine country, hosted by two of the nicest people imaginable, Hans and Ulrika. A lovely suite nestled in the green vineyard hills, very friendly hospitality, delicious and light but filling breakfast, and of course the wine, their own drop - the sparkling red is velvety and delicious; the 2008 Shiraz is out... My husband and I just spent two wonderful nights at the blue grape which is a B and B run by the most fantastic German husband and wife one could ever wish to meet. The warmth and friendliness of this couple is amazing and on leaving I felt we were saying goodbye to old friends. We had the romantic suite... More

We found this a very unique place during a trip with many stunning places. Imagine, you're at the edge of the world, or rather, at the edge of the McLarenVale valley which is rolling out at your feet, only vineyards miles around you, no sound from whatsoever. And then you are greeted by a charming couple who, in all humbleness... More

Sleeping on wine is how hosts Hans and Ulrike put it when I suggested we were amongst the vines. Surrounded by the Zimmerman's Shiraz and sleeping atop the cellar is as close as one can be for a weekend and without the risk of a sea change. Hans an architect and Ulrike an artist, the guest accommodation is well designed,... More

Great B & B tucked away right on the edge of the Macclarren Vale wine region. Lovely friendly hosts, who go out of their way to ensure their guests are made to feel at home. The restaurant we had booked was gently suggested that there was an alternative, we took the advice and were very grateful for the local advice.... More

Beautiful Home with large veranda with panoramic views. Hosts were a delightful German couple with a fantastic sense of humor. Their home cooking was amazing and the table settings impressive. Ordering breakfast is a must. Wine tasting at the home available & a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

We stayed in the romantic suite at the blue grape last weekend and would definitely recommend this room to others. We stayed two nights and would loved to have stayed longer. The home in the middle of the vines is a very unique property. Hans and Ulrike were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we... More

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful weekend my partner and I had. Hans and Ulrike were so welcoming and made sure it was a trip not to forget. In the morning we would wake up to fresh coffee, toast and home-made jam (plus the option of muesli, yoghurt, fruit or a cooked breakfast) and in the evening the... More

The blue grape was a beautiful setting. However I was a little dissapointed in the politeness of the hosts at times. I think it was because my boyfriend was German that the hosts were in our face a lot. They were very insistent that we try their wines and their speciality breakfast even though we had politely declined. The only breakfast... More
