This is your classic early 1900's Aussie hotel, refurbished and with a balcony. It is in a prominent downtown position and on the promenade of Boston Bay which all together gives it a good aspect and attractive location. It is huge inside with several bars, one with a terrace, large bistro and bar area, restaurant and the inevitable pokies room.... More

And very little in the way of vegetarian offerings. Great views over Boston Bay and friendly staff. We were in town for the annual Tunarama and as a matter of convenience ate in the Grand Tasman Hotel. Good coffee and Bulmers original Cider by the bottle. We will be back.

Stayed here over the New Year for three nights and whilst it is a little old the rooms were newly painted and had new air conditioners. We had a delux room so we had a separate room with a sofa, table and fridge etc. As we had a baby we were able to set the portable cot up here which... More

This hotel offers budget accommodation right on the beach front. Please note that it is above a pub so weekends are noisy. We were there for two nights on a Sunday and Monday and it wasn't noisy at all. Food at the restaurant is your typical pub meal and very yummy. Room has foxtel and free wifi and a laundry... More

We were advised at check in last Saturday that there would be music and as we had stayed before thought this was ok. Music quite loud but did not mind this, it was well after the music stopped that we were annoyed with loud talking and laughing until well after 3am. We presume this was staff after close of the... After a long day..... Needing a good nights sleep before a 10 hour drive the next day. The first thing I see in my room was ear plugs? Ear plugs dont stop the bed shaking from the band downstairs. There would be more people furious they can't sleep here than there are people watching the band. Overpriced and down right... More

We went to the hotel for a good pub meal but were disappointed. The service was very slow and the food took ages to come out. The chicken snitzel came with what tasted like packet gravy but cost $2. The scotch fillet was nearly $30 and was over cooked and tough. While the location is nice if you choose to... More

Such an awful experience we left at midnight. Room was stocked with ear plugs - this should've been our first clue. Loud music which shook the entire hotel went on until past midnight and as we had booked by phone from the road the reception staff never mentioned that there would be live entertainment, even when we checked in. As... More

Noisy. Inexpensive. Reasonable food. Very basic breakfast. Tariff included breakfast. Better without breakfast. Not much choice. Though most of the have Port Lincoln view with shared balcony. Handy location for Port Lincoln. In the middle of the town. To some extent uncomfortable beds as well. Would like to stay somewhere else next time and try not to save $20.
