These are very standard motel rooms, nothing too terrible, nothing marvelous. They are set back off the street, but in Hawker there is not a lot of traffic to escape anyway. The hotel itself is a typical Australian pub, but has an interesting range of wines on offer.

Decided to eat out on night 2 of camping in hawker. Asked for a high chair which was supplied absolutely filthy. Tried to order 2 different items off of the menu and were told that they forgot to order food this week so only had beef schnitzels and steaks. Tried to order drinks at the same time as meals but... We are travelling in a caravan and went for a meal out and it was GREAT - good value for money and quick service. The meals were lovely and the staff very friendly. I would certainly recommend this to anyone.

You will get no surprises when you enter through the door to the room. It is basic accommodation, there is plenty of room, with a separate table and chairs. If you are looking for accommodation that is not camping or “Eco Lodge” style, it is definitely equal to all of the other accommodation in the area. The fixtures and fittings... More

On the third night of our stay in Hawker we decided to eat out at the only place in town open for dinner. Our group of 11 headed into the Hawker Hotel looking forward to some country hospitality and good pub grub. As the youngest in our group was 5 year old we got there around 6.15pm and ordered soon... Heard it changed hands, thought we would see if things had changed from our last visit 12 months ago. Well I am delighted to say it has, now friendly and you feel at home with the place. Locals are back in the bar also. Food was good for the money. Cheers to the new owners etc.

Good value for money, right next to the pub, although we did not eat there. Rooms are old fashioned but still OK. Located right in the heart of town. Customer service was OK. Only stayed 1 night but would come back if in the area.

The motel is the usual strip of rooms with car parking outside, but the rooms are rather dated, although adequate. Our bathroom should certainly have been upgraded some time ago! We did not attempt the bar or dining room but had brought food. Sadly the Old Ghan restaurant was closed for the evening we were there. But the place is... More

An interesting outback Flinders Ranges pub in Hawker SA. Has a dining rooom and meals are also served in the Lounge Bar. Friendly staff assist with great beer and a good wine list. The food is substantial and well presented with a very good menu selection.

Best thing about this hotel is its convenient location. We stayed here on our way to a hike at St Mary's peak at the Flinder's range. The hotel is average at best but one couldn't complain much given the fact that Hawker is the closest town from Wilpena pound thus making it an ideal stopover point and only 2-3 hotels... More
