rooms were good, pool refreshing and staff helpful. The roos are friendly but sadly because they are suffering from drought do attempt to steal or beg for food, understandable, but there need to be signs advising unaware people of the problems they will suffer if fed wheat products like bread. suggest that pellets are provided to avoid people inadvertantly causing... Excellent accommodation and pool very welcome as we were there in February. We stayed in a quiet time and staff were good, especially Scott (the pilot) who went out of his way to organise a Sunset tour (at late notice) for us that the Resort were not actually running that day. More

A great 'little' resort. Quiet and remote, but with very comfortable accommodation, and good facilities and a beautiful setting with the colourful bluffs of the Pound as a backdrop making sunrises spectacular. It seems like a small resort, but the accommodation ranged from cabins and rooms through to a camp ground across the creek, all spread out through the bush.... More

We stayed here in October 2010, the service, meals and rooms were all great, and it was especially nice to be able to wander out from your room and see roos hopping about. Memorable stay in a memorable landscape. More

We had stayed at the nearby Rawnsley Park two years ago but decided that we would go a little bit upmarket for this trip. Five adults shared two 'Edeowie' cabins that could actually have slept 9. Very good rooms with lots of space, adequate kitchenette and good bathrooms. A little expensive but I guess there is not much competition! The... More

This one's a bit hard to rate!!! If you want to stay in a National Park, you can’t expect the Hilton. But the standard rooms we had were comfortable and spacious and (apart from a rock hard pillow), we had no complaints! The plus, of course, is the area. The South Australian Outback is absolutely stunning, and the walks from... More

This place just blew us away !. Approx 550k north of Adelaide ( full days drive via the Clare Valley, less via Port Augusta). Nothing prepares you for the sheer grandeur of the landscape and the Pound itself. We booked a two night stop including scenic flight, 4wd tour & evening sunset drinks & nibbles. The resort itself looks pretty... More

Had a lovely nights stay at this hotel, the room was large, clean modern and quiet. The pool is small but fine, we loved the kangaroos that visited the lawn in the evening. Food from the bistro was below average though. More

Hi There, Thanks for your review. I’m very glad to hear you enjoyed our resort. Sitting by the pool or on the patio watching the Kangaroos graze on the front lawn really is a treat. Our apologies that the food in the bistro was below average during your stay, I have passed this review on to our Head Chef so... More

Hi There, Thanks for your review. It’s great to know that your trip to Wilpena Pound Resort has stayed in your mind for the last four years, absolutely amazing. Very glad that you had a good time and the ‘two day explorer’ flight is really a great way to see the outback. Our apologies that the bus driver did not... More

My wife and I took a package including 2 nights accomodation in a standard, motel-type room, breakfast included, a 30 minute scenic flight and a 4-hour 4WD tour of the Flinders Ranges Nat'l Park. Overall it was an exciting experience; never saw so many kangaroos, emus, yellow-tailed rock wallabies, birds of many different types, lizards.... The park is the dream... More

Hi There, Thanks for your review. The two night Escape package is a wonderful way to get away from the city for a break, the 4WD tour with Michael is always a favourite to our guests as he is an amazing source of information as are our pilots. Your right it never does seem long enough when you’re in the... More
