Stayed for 3 nights on an unpowered site and quite enjoyed my stay. It's an excellent base for both the walks within the resort and the scenic drives/walks in the Flinders Ranges nearby. No grass on sites but soft underfoot and plenty of shade. Large choice of sites both near and far from facilities. The showers had excellent pressure and... More

We stayed at the campsite and had a really good time. The positives: all staff were courteous, polite and helpful; the restaurant was great and reasonably priced; the store was well stocked and best of all an absolutely amazing location. The negatives: the shower blocks were filthy and definitely not cleaned in the 6 nights I was there however the... More

Three of us stayed for 5 nights in an Edeowie suite. There was a main room with double bed, fridge, table TV and kitchenette, an alcove with twin beds and a bathroom. We paid $279/night which could raise expectations of luxury but, while the room was very comfortable and functional, it could not be called luxurious. Importantly, the beds were... More

Wow aussiesinspain, What a great review. Thanks for spending the time to write in detail about your stay. You are correct in that the Edeowie rooms are the best for Self-Catering. In fact these are the only rooms with a Kitchenette, and while small they are sufficient for cooking. We also agree with you that Wilpena Pound Resort, while nice... More

We camped for 4 nights on a powered site. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities quite good. The walks and the scenery marvellous! The information available was very helpful in deciding what to do.

Hi MrsEbonyRose, Thank you for your great review. We are really glad that you found more 'Pros' than 'Cons' on your trip. In relation to the signage of the walking trails, this is managed by National Parks. We have forwarded your comments on to them for them to review and address. It is great to know that you enjoyed your... More

We recently stayed for three nights in the Wilpena Resort campground on an unpowered site. The campground is a great spot to base yourself for exploring the park whilst also giving you access to amenities. On this trip we needed internet access. We had good Telstra 3g connection from the campground. We also were able to choose a site with... More

Hello Gouldee07, Thanks for your review and for spending some time at Wilpena Pound. We are really happy that you found the facilities were suitable and the staff friendly. One of the great things about out camping areas is that there is a large amount of space and trees so you can find the spot that you like. Thanks again.... More

we stayed here for our three night visit to the flinders. The young lady, Michelle, who check us in was very pleasant and helpful. Apparently they had some sort of snafu with house keeping and our room wasn't ready so they offered us free breakfast on each morning of our stay. I noticed that they offered similar arrangement to other... More

Fantastic scenery and beautiful nature settings. This is a must to see and it should be listed as one of the natural wonders of the world. The accommodation is plentiful and the food is excellent. Unlike Rawnsley Park down the road it is not over priced. I recommend Wilpena Pound.

The Ikara camp site tent was equipped to a very good standard including large ensuite, king size bed, comfortable chairs/coffee table as well as two chairs on verandah. Tents are well spaced and only noise was the pleasant chirping of the birds. Great place to escape for a few days with little phone/internet connections and no TV. Weather was on... More

The Wilpena Resort was pretty much empty when we stayed for three nights in hot February weather – but not quite hot enough to close the trails as they had done a week or so earlier. We picked the Ikara Safari camp for something a bit different, and because it was being heavily discounted. It’s not clear how long this... More

Michael424, Thanks for your great review. I am so glad that you enjoyed the Ikara Safari Camp experience. Your comments have been passed on to the resort Management team so that they can review and address your concerns (Although I don't think that anything is going to stop the heat in the Flinders). Thanks again, Jason Purton More
