Kookaburra Lodge is located at the top of a gentle rise, within walking distance to a number of restaurants, a small number of speciality shops, grocery store, a spa, gallery and the platypus viewing platform. The motel itself is set in small tropical gardens with all rooms at ground-level. There is a communal pergola near reception where wi-fi can be... More

Spotless and well equipped rooms, with pleasant sitting out space, are set beside a pretty tropical garden. We were greeted warmly and shown an interesting breakfast menu, though we didn't sample it. Very good quality towels, nice local tea, lots of information - we really liked this motel, for reasons that boil down to feeling welcome. There are only twelve... More

We spent a number of days in Yungaburra and surrounds and used Kookaburra lodge as our base. Nice room with verandah overlooking the garden, nice room and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. Location meant easy walk to shops. Great place to stay.

Spent a night in this lovely little old world motel. Our room was at the back overlooking the lovely garden, our patio was 'bordered' by tropical plants and hanging baskets, the room was more than adequate, clean, comfortable and well presented. We found the owner/manager to be very helpful with both information about the motel, the local area and the... More

Loved this accommodation set in a lovely tropical garden. Clean room good bed. The staff were very helpful. Great location off the main road but in town. So nice & quite yet easy walk to town for a good selection of food.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Michael was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely gardens. Nice to sit on the deck and watch birds. Walking distance to places to eat. We had provisions so did not get a chance to sample the breakfast. We would stay there again.

I've stayed at Kookaburra Lodge over the past 30 + years and the rooms used to be brightly decorated and the hosts welcoming. I haven't been for over 10 years now and sadly things have changed. I don't know if there are managers in there or the owners but the welcome was very different and the room we stayed in,... More

Stayed just 1 night but it was really lovely. Breakfast served to your room and eaten al fresco on private patio. Friendly hosts made time to make us feel welcome. Only downside is not suitable for kids so we can't return with our son.

Comfortable room and very good bathroom for the price. Have stayed at Eden House and value for money is much better at Kookaburra. Breakfast is well worth the price and the balcony is a nice touch for enjoying it. Stayed 2 nights and found it a perfect place as a base for touring the tablelands.

No wonder this place is for sale, the owner has no idea how to treat customers and that's when paying them. A very rude and bitter Iittle man. The place itself is pretty average, pokey little rooms with a small bed and a cheap mattress. We won't go there again.
