We stayed at Castaways at Mission Beach for two weeks. We wanted somewhere peaceful and relaxing. Mission Beach was certainly the location for that. I did not enjoy my time at Castaways. The service was rude in greeting me, and gave me probably the worst room in the hotel - for a hotel that claims every room has an ocean view, my view was of the garbage dumps, air conditioning, and parking lot, right above what sounded like the dishwashing area of the kitchen.... more

We stayed 6 nights at Castaways and loved every day. The location is just amazing, right on the beach and a short walk from town. The beach is just stunning and the main reason for us going there. The position of this hotel is fantastic - and although the rooms are a teeny bit tired, the bedding has been upgraded and was beautiful. Also, the only place on our recent Qld holiday with flat screen TV. In summary: location location location; and you'll want to take the bed and pillows with you when you go. Loved it. more
