We had two nights in one of the ex RAAF ammunition bunkers. It was one of those interesting life experiences that will always be remembered. The bunker was very comfortable and quite well equipped, if a little tired and dated. It had an old-fashion homely quaint 80s feel with lots of floral arrangements, doileys, wall pictures and chintz bed covers.... More

Possum Park was a surprise, we bounced along quite a few kilometres of dirt road before reaching this quite unusual caravan park. There are about 20 old bunkers that were used to store ammunition in the war which are currently being converted into modern self-contained units for tourist accommodation (some already completed). There is also an old troop train here... More

Finally got to stay at this interesting caravan park which has 16 former amunition bunkers hidden around the property. Some bunkers have been fitted out as ensuited, self contained cabins, which are very cosy when temperatures drop to 0. They even have electric blankets! The caravan park looks nice too and we were lucky enough to strike a sing a... More

We went 20 k out of our way to stay overnite here when coming home from the Birdsville track. We are so glad we did - it's quirky in the best ways. We had a powered site for our camper but there is accommodatipn in underground bunkers, old railway carriages and soon a converted airplane. A wonderful fire pit and... More

Just about 20 kilometres out of Miles and getting on for dusk we came across this really unusual accommodation experience. We stayed in an old underground army bunker, which had been set up to accommodate 4 people. It was disappointing to stay only one night, as the place looked to be very interesting and quiet tranquil set amongst the bush.... More

We had a three night stay, it was warm and cosy. Julie and the caretakers were most helpful and knowledgeable about the area and it's history. Things to do include bush walking, games room that will be opened upon request just speak to Julie, see the old bunkers, sit around the open fire or just relax in your bunker. Clean... More

We stayed in the igloo bunkhouse for 3 nights. Very spacious with a large flat screen tv and and a large aircon unit. Huge shower and the room has everything you need. Very comfortable. The history of possum park is definitely interesting. Julie the owner was very lovely and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. Although... More

Stayed here for a night on our way back to Victoria and will be definitely returning for a few nights. Great staff and such a calming environment and great military history. It is worth stocking up on goodies and just enjoying the time.

We took our grandkids out to get away from the city and liked the idea of igloo with a bit of history. It was clean and comfortable. The kids had a ball at the fire every night. We went for walk and threw stones and saw some of the nice wildlife. Didn't meet any sticks that move (snakes) and we... More
