I went on a road trip with a mate from Adelaide to Townsville, and not knowing anything about Queensland's wild west, we just chose towns/locations to stay based on TripAdvisor reviews. Possum Park in Miles is an absolute winner. Julie is a wonderful host; she is incredibly obliging. The bunkers are great. The decor is a little daggy, but that's... More

WE had heard about Possum Park and seen it on TV, Getaway I think; we were travelling South on the Leichhardt Highway late August 2014 with our caravan, so I decided to give a ring to see if they had any sites available. They still had a few sites available so I booked in, and so happy that we did,... More

My husband and I are regulars to Miles and most times we have stayed at the motels in town trying to bunk down with the constant noise of the heavy road trains and the wafting odours from the cattle trucks. So this time I wanted to surprise my husband about my choice to try Possum Park which meant I had... More

Just stayed 2 nights at an ensuite powered site, it was wonderful, friendly staff lovely private bathroom and brilliant value at $32. I would highly recommend this beautiful spot. There is no pool but lots for my son to explore, glad we bought the bikes. Whilst we were here we visited the museum in Miles, that is a must, another... More

fell by this fantastic site when looking for an overnight stay in our converted bus. Boy I wish we had more time. Will definitely go back again and bring friends. It is a converted WORLD WAR II bomb storage facility. We used a powered site for our bus but there a so many different types of accommodation. The friendliest people... More

We have stayed here a few times and have never been disappointed. This time we booked an en suite site which was excellent. At $32 per night it is a gift. They have various accommodations including a reconditioned plane. This is not ready yet as the inside is not completed. Hopefully on our next stay here it will be done... More

We were fortunate to be able to stay in a converted bunker at Possum Park. What an experience! Julie is a gracious host and has converted the available bunkers when first purchased the property - about thirty years ago. Everything works and is comfortable. This is self contained accommodation, so plan ahead and bring your food (and water?) with you.... More

Possum Park was recommended by friends who had stayed here previously, and what a surprise it was. After towing our caravan along the narrow, windy, gravel road into the bush, we came upon Julie at the reception hut and checked in. No computerised booking here! Julie then instructed us to proceed further up the hill, where we would be met... More

We had two nights in one of the ex RAAF ammunition bunkers. It was one of those interesting life experiences that will always be remembered. The bunker was very comfortable and quite well equipped, if a little tired and dated. It had an old-fashion homely quaint 80s feel with lots of floral arrangements, doileys, wall pictures and chintz bed covers.... More
