Rooms were very clean and the bed absolute heaven after sleeping in the cat the previous night. The owner was very helpful with local information and escorted me to the room. Most just point and let you find your own way. Great little café/resturant across the road called the Grapevine with excellent service and food. Highly recommend both places. Room... More

Despite our genuine car breakdown half way to Dubbo the owner would not relent and still charged us the full occupancy rate for a family room when he knew it would be unused. Young family with two little kids returning from Queensland stranded in the middle of nowhere for 4 hours in the stifling heat and he couldn't care less.... More

This is a good value, very clean (better than most others) motel. Breakfast was cooked just how I like it and the rooms are big (and charmingly a bit retro!). The owners are friendly, it's central to everything and it's good value.

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights, the first night, I was woken by trucks in the early hours of the morning. I went to the office to ask if they go all the time I was met by the manageress, she said I live right there and I don't hear them. I replied I really didn't want to... More

Stayed at this motel with a tour group. Owner was more than helpful and a great 'mine host'. Room was large, immaculate,y clean and very comfortable. The food was way better than I expected at a country motel. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Clean rooms, good food at a reasonable price. Friendly staff, room service for dinner and breakfast or can eat at pubs close by.

We stayed in room 6 for one night on our way to the Whitsundays. There are four motels in Miles and we thought that the Golden West provided the best value for money at $105. As stated by donuts74, the mining boom has escalated prices in some areas of Queensland and can also make it difficult for the traveller to... More

We stayed here for two nights visiting family & friends. The family room is good for ppl travelling with kids offering a separate bedroom. Rooms & bathrooms are very dated but spacious and clean. Friendly service. The town's mining boom has pushed prices up making it more expensive than it should be but still good value in comparison with what... More
