Very nice safari camp where you can see lots of birds, as well as kangaroos. We had the all inclusive deal, which was very good. Great dinners and a good breakfast. Friendly hosts and a stunning view from the reception center/ dinning room. Nice walks trough the premises. The safari Twents are basic, but comfortable. It was worthwhile the visit!!!

We stayed two nights in the DeLuxe cabin. The cabin is comfortable with three beds, a fridge and 220V. Toilet and shower are simple but clean. In front of the cabin is a small veranda. The path to the main building is lit at night and a torch is provided. You will hear a lot of birds and other animals... More

This place was amazing. We stayed for 2 nights. We had Emus wondering around the deck outside the tent. We had a wallaby peek in the tent window the following morning. It was amazing. The tents make the camping easy: fridge, bathroom attached with shower, a deck outside with a BBQ and a real bed. Very nice. We saw birds... More

We were at the lodge for two nights. After coming through a quite hectic town, Mareeba, you just do not expect so much tranquility. We had two nice tours with Greg, used the canoo several times and made a fantastic walk. The most important thing to mention is the almost unlimited attention one gets from both the owners as wel... We've been on holiday in FNQ for a couple of weeks mainly birding, and for some unknown reason no one pushed us to visit the Mareeba Wetlands. We were heading out that way so thought we'd stick our heads in quickly to see what it was like and we ended up staying the whole day. We had 5 new species... More

We stayed two nights in July 2014 at the Jabiru Safari Lodge, in one of the few Luxury, tented safari cabins and were absolutely excited. Having been to the Whitsunday Islands, we were looking for a luxury, but reasonably priced outback accommodation and opportunities to see wildlife and take part in excursions. We found exactly what we were looking for.... More

If you're in the Cairns area it's worth visiting this place that's in the Mareeba wetlands, about 45 minutes west of Cairns. If you like wildlife, especially birds, it's a must. The boat trip around one of the wetland lakes at sunset is a excellent and the safari by 4 wheel drive really shows off the area. Greg and Marg... More

This place was a late find for us on our holiday but was a perfect interlude to a mostly beach holiday. We arrived late to complimentary drinks and cheese on the deck overlooking the wetlands and then stayed for a fantastic buffet dinner (book in advance). We stayed in an Eco tent, which was spacious with an amazing bathroom. We... More

We stayed for only one night in the eco tent. It was a great, fun experience for those who want a taste of glamping. Either bring your own food or book for dinner in advance as Jabiru is quite remote. We did neither, but the owners were very accommodating and still managed to provide us with a lovely dinner. Greg... More
